    Has anyone else who was waitlisted from UOttawa's program received an update on their application? The website says we should have heard an update by May 1st, but mine still says 'waitlisted'. Hoping to get a final decision eventually!

    What a frustrating situation! You truly should be able to decide between all options. You could email Ottawa admissions asking for an extension to the deadline? They may say no but its worth a try. You could also try emailing U of T to get a better sense of when you'll hear back. You might also not get a helpful response, but who knows!! Otherwise, you can accept UOttawa, and then if you get into U of T, you accept U of T and 'drop out' of Ottawa. This is not ideal for a couple of reasons for sure. I think it might mean that Ottawa wont be able to give your spot to someone on the waitlist (which I, admittedly, care about because I'm on the waitlist). It might also mean that you wont get your money back if you're required to make a payment to UOttawa.

    I applied to M.Ed. course-based and also the MA. Waitlisted for M.Ed., but 'under evaluation' for MA.

    Received it on the online portal. "Under Evaluation" means that they haven't posted the decision for you yet. I don' think its good or bad or anything, it just that your results have not been posted yet.

    Re UOttawa waitlist. Does anyone have additional information about the waitlist process (e.g. insights from previous years)? We have reviewed your application for admission. Although we cannot admit you into the program at this time, we have placed your name on a waiting list. Unfortunately, we cannot provide any further information on your chances of receiving an offer of admission. You will remain on the waiting list until a spot is available or until the program meets its quota. As soon as a decision is taken, you will be informed by email. We strongly recommend that you verify your uoZone account regularly. Important: The Admissions Committee at the Faculty of Education has reviewed the applications submitted to the Counselling Psychology program for September 2023 Please note that we have placed your name on a wait list and we could not recommend your admission to the program at this time. Every year we receive a large number of quality applications and the program can only accept a limited number of students. This year we have received more than 400 applications to fill 30 spots. Unfortunately, we cannot give you any further information regarding your chances of receiving an offer of admission or your rank. We will be updating you on your application status by May 1st. Please refrain from sending us questions on your wait list status before June 1st, as we will not be able to respond to your requests. We thank you again for your interest in our program.

    Sorry to hear ! Best of luck with the remaining. Both meaning the M.Ed. and M.A.? How did you find out? Were you notified by email or did you check online?

    If you're comfortable doing so, one option is that you could email your POI to ask them directly!

    I can't confirm this. Personally, I haven't received the formal invite but I also have not received a rejection or notice of not moving on to the next stage.

    Submitting the choices moves things on to the next round, so I don't think official updates will be sent out yet.

    FYI - Apparently the University of Ottawa does NOT have a waitlist. *Noting because other schools do have waitlists.

    Yes! I am very interested in hearing the feedback - I was invited to ask specific questions, so this is what I'm wondering about .... Are there any specific questions that I should ask?

    Does anyone have tips/advice for what types of questions to ask to a POI who interviewed you, did not select you, but has emailed you to offer to provide feedback? DM or respond on thread, Thanks in advance!!
