. . . Would anybody say that it's bigger than 4.25" by 6"? (Sorry!)
-
Hmmm. Then it might not show up with Informed Delivery. Thanks so much for answering!

Question! For those of you saying that you got a bigger brown envelope: was it larger than a standard letter in dimensions? I.e. would it be considered an oversized letter?

Informed Delivery shows no mail for me in Atlanta.

News has come to America! Perhaps I will not be waiting forever after all? Congrats!

I've got . . . one paragraph. *Weeps openly.*

Is this finals period for other people? I forget. I need to write a 20-page paper and it's completely impossible. PLEASE GOD JUST PUT ME OUT OF MY MISERY.

Should I be discouraged by this? https://ribbs.usps.gov/modernservicestandards/ssmaps/find_map.cfm (Must. Stop. Googling.)

Nothing in the mail in Atlanta, America-dwellers.
-
That's what I assumed. I mean, I get mail for my landlords, too--seems unlikely that there is absolutely no mail coming here today.
-
You have no idea how much Googling I did of delivery standards before I found that. *Shame.*

Hey, if there are any stressed-out Americans who live in urban areas, you might want to look into whether or not you are eligible for Informed Delivery from USPS. It sends you a daily mail with scans of mail to be sent to you that day.

Nothing in Atlanta, unsurprisingly. I emailed; they said to allow two weeks for delivery and contact them if it has not arrived at that point.

Right now, I am trying hard to focus on all of the reasons that it will be okay if I fail in this competition. I'm in Georgia (direct applicant), so it might be a few days before I know the results. Maybe this will be helpful for other people? 1. There are plenty of chances yet. 2. Every year that you fail is a chance to gain more and more items to put on your CV. 3. Success in this competition is not a measure of your worth. 4. Just being in grad school is akin to winning lots of competitions! 5. The harder you work to prove yourself, the better you become as a scholar. If anybody else wants to chime in, feel welcome. Congrats to all who were successful!

Kill me. Guhhhh.

Forwardeeeeeeeeeed!

Still no word in Georgia. Alack, alas. I wish I could just get a negative and move on.

I applied directly as well! I'm studying in Atlanta. Getting my letters of recommendation here and mailing them back to Canada was sure a treat. :/ Brillantine, I'm afraid I don't know the answer to that--but if you received notification that you were being forwarded, I personally wouldn't worry about it. Maybe somebody else here has some insight.

Not so great! I am so poor—I so want this! Just gotta remember that life will go on . . .

Are you a direct applicant or through a uni, violabec?

Hey there! I'm new, so if I'm posting this in the wrong place or there is already a thread, feel free to help me delete it! Just getting ready to send off my SSHRC from the U.S., and thought a forum to share updates, questions, etc. would be useful. I can start off with a question! Does anybody know if the P.O. box address that SSHRC gives means that I should not use a "request signature" option? That seems to make sense to me, but I don't really know. I definitely want tracking . . . And does it seem risky to send it in a paper envelope that's not waterproof? Am I overthinking this? Cheers!
