My GPA is not that high at all, like 3.3 maybe, but I have a lot of work and volunteer experience and I was a research assistant in my third year. But I came straight to university after college, completed 5 years of university (BSW and crim degree) and got accepted to Western's advanced standing MSW program! It depends what the school is looking for, it's definitely not all based on GPA!
Good luck to you! Where have you applied?
Are you accepted to Windsor? I'm just on the waitlist right now, but if I got in it would be a 3 hour drive from where I'm from.. but I had a hard time finding out what the summer schedule would be like? I thought it looked like it would be a Tuesday class and a Friday class for the summer but I could be wrong?
Best of luck to you!
Hey! I know it's a year later, but I'm in the same boat now! I've applied to Windsor and I'm on the waitlist to begin in May but I'm wondering when you got your acceptance letter to Windsor? And hows the program been for you!?
I applied for the 1 year program at both schools. For Laurier, I got a letter in the mail and my online profile was updated shortly after. For windsor and western they emailed me
I hear back from King's (Western University) today and I am on the waitlist! Also on the waitlist for Windsor and got rejected from Laurier.
I hate the waiting game!
If you log onto the Windsor Student Information System (SIS) it should say there under "view your applications." I got an email today saying I was on the waitlist and that was updated! But my Windsor "graduate admission system" still says in process.
Hope you hear back soon too!
Hey! I'm applying to the Windsor Advanced Standing program as well, and I ran into this same issue! This response is probably a little late.. but I emailed the school and asked and they said as long as your documents are submitted by December 2 then everything is considered on time. Your references will then have 21 days to complete their portion, but it does not have to be before Dec 2. Hope that helps!
Good luck applying
