  1. Is the other Illinois Institute of Technology poster on the forums? I have some questions about what you think of the program. Message me if you're willing to speak!
  2. I am waiting on them as well, I saw in the past that the interviews had gone out over a week ago, so maybe they are just delayed. There is one POI there that is a very good fit for me. What do you think of there funding situation? I read that they only cover half and its a $50K a year program (super high for a clinical PhD.) Have you heard anything about being funded completely through other grants?
  3. I see Wayne State is starting to send out emails over the past few days amd they're coming from POIs. For those that have received invitations what are your research interest?
  4. Yes, I reached out to three POI's before the deadline (they have a track that is concentrated in my area of research) and two after the deadline. We will see how it works out, wishing the faculty reviewed apps themselves as opposed to an admissions committee.
  5. I'm more concerned with whether or not an admissions committee would be aware of such conversations? Or are they completely unaware/impartial to those types of interactions?
  6. Need some input, I have had one POI at a university (via email) say that I sounded like a great match for their program and another POI at the sake university say that they hope to meet me. The applications are reviewed by a committee though. Has anyone had experience with something like this? I would assume the committee would know nothing of conversations potential grad students have had with faculty. Wondering if interview chances would increase or if it would have no effect on the committee?
  7. could the Wayne State Poster message me your POI's initials. It would be greatly appreciated amd congrats on the interview.
  8. Hey Arizona State poster were you contacted by the department committee, or a POI? If it was a POI mind messaging me their initials? Congrats.
  9. That moment when you get an email from the graduate school that you applied to that hasn't sent emails out yet, and they're wishing you a happy holidays.
  10. Could the person that was contacted today about The University of Arkansas message me their POI's initials? It would be greatly appreciated. Congrats.
  11. for those that landed an interview to Texas Tech, do you mind messaging me your POI, or their initials?
  12. I am 28 years old. I graduate with my undergrad degree in a week. Spent 3 years in college for business at 18, didn't enjoy it, worked construction or a few years and decided to go back for a psych degrees. Worked the past two years at a substance recovery center and a recovery living home while volunteering at treatment centers and going to school. I would think most people applying for clinical are older than 22, adds some maturity.
  13. I am split between Montana and UNC Wilmington. At Montana there are a few POI's that I like, one studies stigmatization of mental health and the other examines substance use in the native american population. Then at UNCW, it is a new program and they have a substance use with co-occurring mental health disorders track as well as a POI that examines motivation in offenders sentenced to drug and therapeutic courts.
  14. My research interest center around substance use, recovery, as well as mental health stigmatization. Pretty much found substance use fits in labs. Prefer to study recovery outcomes but most people focus on individuals in active addiction.
  15. Patiently waiting is not on the top of my list of things im looking forward to this holiday season. Trying to put it off my mind until January. Best of luck to everyone.
