Way to go! Congrats everyone on acceptances!!!
  3. 2017 Applicant Profiles and Admissions Results

I wish they would just send out the rejection already. It is an excruciating wait and I have no admits to focus on...

@Dibenzofulvene, I know of a lot of people who changed advisors more than once. My own father switched advisors twice during his M.Sc. in Materials Science at Penn State. That didn't stop him from completing it with the maximum grade from all 5 members of the committee, one of which had been his previous advisor, with whom he had engaged in verbal altercation. They all said he should have gone on to defend a Ph.D. with his results. So these internal issues you're struggling with have a way of being resolved. As for some particular school being so short-sighted as to judge you on first impression and put all the blame on you for changing advisors ("you're not committed" and the whole yada-yada), screw 'em. You probably don't want to be there anyway.
  6. Here I am obsessing over checking my e-mails for the last two weeks. Really discouraged at this point though. I think Scripps mostly finishes their interview invites by early January. No joy for me I think...
  7. @Dibenzofulvene, congratulations!! Must have been a Merry Christmas indeed!
  8. Way to go!!!!!! Congrats Dragon_ChemBio!

    Way to go @ochemist94!! Congrats!!
  10. Me too! Scripps is one of my top choices for the same reasons. I think it would offer one of the best trainings I could possibly wish for. I am totally total synthesis, interested in research by Baran, Boger and Roush (even though he's in FL and I would prefer to go to CA). Engle does some pretty interesting stuff though. It is actually hard to choose from among all of the options. I have a friend who works in C-H activation and would really like to work at Yu's lab after he finishes his PhD... Hope it works out for us!
  11. Hey @Dibenzofulvene, are you?
  12. Chances at top programs

    This is too funny!

I hope we all get accepted! I'm 31, waiting for the next year is not an option for me...
