Anyone else experiencing internal guilt because they are holding on to an offer while they wait to see if they pop off another school's wait list? I know we have until April 15th before we have to make a decision but I feel bad knowing that other applicants are waiting for me to make a decision. I also would hate if these people who are wait listed might just accept another school's offer and then the school won't be able to accept someone in the fall!

I think at this point in the process, most people are feeling the ever present anxiety of waiting to hear back from the schools they have interviewed at but unfortunately there is no straight forward answer to when that might happen. Some people have posted that they hear back from schools in less than a week but I think that is uncommonly quick in this process. I have had 3 interviews and they have all taken 2-4 weeks to get back to applicants because many of them still have to get funding approved from both the psychology and the graduate departments. The best way to get an idea about when you might hear back is by checking the results from that school in previous years. Other than that, just stay busy and try not to think about the blank hole that is your future currently. I know that seems impossible to do as I have been on the verge of driving myself crazy with how often I am checking my email and the results page but ultimately things are going to be okay. Even if you have to reapply next year, you are still hopefully building your resume with more conference and publication experience that will help make you competitive for your top choice in graduate school and internships in the future. Or at least that is what I am telling myself to combat the anxiety

I agree with you for the most part as well. The only gray area that @byn may have been in was posting what might have been (?) information that could vaguely, if stretched hard enough, may have identified a candidate, and this is what I assume led to the ultimate decision. But the way the discussion started, with ClinicalPsy/YES!!!'s denigrating one program that had declined to extend an interview to him/her by comparing its ranking (and making glib remarks about that program, which could be someone else's dream program) to those of institutions he/she supposedly got interviews/acceptances from, and then to go on bragging about perfect/near perfect academic record when confronted with the fact that his/her behavior was offensive and immature...
It's not hard to see why multiple people downvoted ClinicalPsy/YES!!!'s posts, especially the more offensive or boastful/arrogant ones. I'm not sure why @byn alone was given an Abusive Content warning while ClinicalPsy/YES!!! wasn't. While I understand that confidentiality of personal information is of utmost importance in running a discussion forum, I've seen candidate's for jobs, grad school, fellowships, and faculty go up in flames after that candidate's Internet posting history came to light. Given this person may some day be practicing or even if not, doing research on mental illness, I'm of the opinion that the gray area was fair game if any faculty / adcomms happened to see the discussion here.

I don't agree with the moderator's actions or explanation myself, and I feel that @byn was the scapegoat in all this.

I am also dying to hear from Rutgers. I am anticipating an interview date conflict so I emailed the DCT a week ago to inquiry about what the potential interview date(s) might be. At that point on time, they still hadn't settled on one! :l
