  1. I would get the degree in CSD if you are really interested in Speech Pathology. I have a BA in psychology -almost every job I applied to out of college wanted a degree in psychology or similar field. I think you can sub a CSD major for a psych one but not the other way around. Also, SLP master programs all have different pre-requisites -but if you have a major in CSD you don't have worry about it. I'm doing a post-bacc now and the 4 grad programs I'm applying to all have different requirements for non-majors. Also, you can apply to a Master's program in counseling, social work, etc. with a CSD major if you change your mind. In my opinion a double major isn't necessary. From life experience (I'm 42) I can tell you most employers just look at the degree and don't really care about the major.
  2. Hi -Does anyone know how long the on-campus clinicals are? Is it 2 or 3 weeks or longer? Do they provide/help with housing? The website does not give a lot of specifics. Thanks.
  3. I am 42!! I just did 4 post-bacc classes and took my GRE's -it's been 20 years since I went to undergrad. I'm going for it -I'm applying to some of the smaller schools near me for a master's program and looking into on-line programs. You should go for it! I studied for the GRE's using Magoosh which really did help. I only got a 150 on quantitive section but my verbal was 157 (and I didn't study for that part).
  4. Yes. I say go ahead and submit so it can be verified by CSDCAS -recommendations can still be uploaded. I know nothing about your schools -but I submitted mine and then one of my LORs was added after. I'm still waiting for 2 more but I wanted CSDCAS to verify.
  5. Thank you ImHis -I think I might apply -I wish the out-of-state tuition was cheaper.
  6. Hi, I just got my GPA's verified by CSDCAS -which are the most important? Is it just the overall? My overall is 3.73. Undergrade 3.63, Grad, 3.99 (Pysch, Counseling) Post-Bacc is 4.0 (but have only done 4 classes so far) Some of my other GPA's are low 2.5 in physical sciences for instance.
  7. Hi -I'm a "career-change" applicant. I got my BA 20 years ago 3.5 GPA, MS from 2001 4.0 GPA. Just took 4 post-bacc classes in CSD got all A's. GRE's are 150 Quant. 157 Verbal, 4.5 Writing. I'm looking for recommendations for on-line Master's programs. I have some related speech experience -mostly from having a special needs child. My son's SLP has been very encouraging. Suggestions? I'm applying to the few programs in my area but if I don't get in I would like more options but can't move.
