ETA! Thank you! And to everyone else who congratulated me, a huge thanks as well! There were definitely some happy tears. I actually already accepted a job offer (since they have their own deadline) that I may or may not still be able to defer. Hopefully I can do both. We'll see!

I thought they were technically required to have submitted their final decisions by March 1st? If that's not the case, then my mistake! That's partly why I was wondering. I know I'm probably grasping for straws here, and the USC office will probably confirm that. I'm really just asking! The reason why I'm looking into it is because it could have a really big impact on my life I wasn't willing to defer a two-year commitment to my job for a year for anything except a Fulbright, and the firm couldn't wait for another 3-4 weeks, so I told them I would start working this June. That being said, if I called them back on Monday and said I had received the award, then they would probably still be able to defer the position. Hope that clarifies my position!

But (and this is just a thought because if this IS news, then I can call back my job on Monday and ask to defer.) why would they bother to ask for the transcripts of people who didn't receive the award?

Ohhh. OK. So this just means I screwed up, lol. So that person was merely referring to the general applicant status?

I got an email reminding me to send transcripts which I realized I forgot to send, haha. I actually just had to accept a competing offer for Fulbright at a law firm (I'm planning to go to law school and it just made more sense), and had wondered if I made a mistake. It's somewhat fitting that I received the email right now, haha.

I'm applying to a lot of jobs! Honestly, I'm not 100% sure which I would choose. If I'm offered a job in a position that I like, then I might accept it and withdraw from consideration from the Fulbright.

Honestly, I bet they're used to it. I just feel bad if I didn't get it, lol. I feel like that puts her in an awkward position... also some advisors may refrain from letting us know the date because they're worried we'll nag them about the results

Oh my gosh, that sounds agonizing. I even just emailed my poor advisor to ask if she can confirm whether or not we'll hear today... Only about another hour and a half until we should know! I just don't get why they wait until 5pm?! Sigh....

I got two emails from gradcafe when I registered and I freaked out. I'm on PST so I don't even have it as bad as you all do! I don't know how everyone on EST is doing it...

Thank god. Either way, we're all in this together!
