So tomorrow is supposedly the final notification date for applicants to the PhD program of Mech. Engineering. Is it possible to receive an acceptance from off the waitlist? Does this happen frequently or can I pretty much expect a rejection?
So, I graduated in December and I shot pretty high for graduate schools and I can't help but feel unsteady about decisions.
My question is: When should I begin interviewing/searching for backup industry jobs? Is there a polite way to inform employers that I am still waiting out grad decisions?
I cant help but feel that I should start the job search in february. Does that seem reasonable?
I am also an applicant to this program and I am kind of worried about GRE scores and GPA. I have sub-160s quant score and 3.5 GPA. Aside from this, I have very good rec's, relevant research experience, and I have had 4 internships in industry. Just curious of how much of a reach this might be.
