They've sent out the invitations and details for the visit day next week, so I imagine this means they've finished notifying. Communication has been generally funky, so things might just be moving slowly over there. I contacted the DGA because I'm juggling campus visits with tight RSVP timelines and want to make sure I can prioritize UNC if it's an option. Got a quick response that said they're almost done, and that decisions should come out by the end of this week or Monday at the latest.

This is real desperate and nerdy but: just checked University of Washington portal and saw a box about creating a student ID. Went through the steps and it made me a UW email and everything. Has this always been there?

This was me! I got a phone call--probably the kindest phone call of my life--from a POI this afternoon. Accepted to the PhD program in Literature, with top funding award! Waitlisted at UChicago and waiting to hear from a few more programs. Definitely excited about this option. It's a great fit for my interests (postmodernism, self-consciousness) and a location I could be happy in for many years.

so awesome!!! But also, wtf is this timing? My hope was just starting to get comfy in its grave.

I do know that U Chicago is settled (in my wait list email they said "the committee has completed their work"). But I think, yeah--in general, no news is probably just bad news (bye, Hopkins ).

It's pretty cruel! Like, glad to be included on some sort of list, at least as a metric for other programs, but also totally nauseating.

Lurker here. Have not allowed myself on this site until I got the strange Chicago interview email last week, and now I must know what the deal is. Has anyone heard back yet?
