I have a first-round Zoom interview scheduled for 60 minutes. Any thoughts about whether to wear a blazer or not as a woman in a humanities field? It seems like things are less formal on Zoom, but I don't want to look under-dressed if I just wear a nice blouse.

May I ask why you are applying to div schools instead of to university religion departments? Lots of div schools don't have courses or faculty in Eastern religion.

I'm looking at applying for the DAAD intensive language grants for this fall, but I'm not clear on the requirements of the language certification. Can anyone help me out on that? If it matters, I'm a first-year PhD student with minimal but not non-existent German skills.
