  1. I'm so sorry @LouisePlease - Please keep your head up best as you can. I know it's difficult, but I went through this with my best friend a few years ago when he was accepted to only one of nine programs despite having spectacular undergrad and MA records both from very prestigious institutions, along with certainly very strong letters. He ended up very happy in his current PhD program which is an excellent fit for him. I'm sure there will be good news soon.
  2. Oh wow I didn't think I'd find other people in the same boat to have relationship troubles as a result of all this uncertainty and stress. @anxiousgrad @ratanegra19 Yeah with the family thing... I haven't even told my family about my acceptances until I get one from a more "prestigious-to-the-layperson" institution... man I hope that doesn't backfire on me.
  3. This thread is so full of good feelings - it makes me happy to read it while I wait. Congratulations to everyone - and best wishes to everyone as well. It's like undergrad I think, where most people get some or many rejections, but do end up at good places where they can thrive - and clearly everyone here is very capable of thriving if we're applying to PhD programs. Keep your heads up!
  4. For what it's worth (with the caveat that obviously everyone's application is different) I wouldn't worry too much about it. My undergrad GPA was below 3.5 with one very bad grade, and I've received some acceptances already. I was worried too - but I think it would be silly of programs not to look at your application holistically with a 3.5 GPA in undergrad plus a postgrad degree.
