  1. My recommendation is that if you want to work in a particular state or city, then you might want to consider a school in that state. So for example, if you want to work in Texas, the LBJ school at UT seems like a good choice. Schools can have better regional support and alumni networks that way. Also, a lot of the less well known schools probably carry a lot more local prestige that even if they aren't necessarily ranked high.
  2. I'd also recommend Harris and I'd add GSPP and WWS as well.
  3. I don't have too much to add about the Evans school, but I did my undergrad at UW. It's a great campus and Seattle is a fantastic city to live in. There's lots to explore. I know a few Evans grads and they all chose to stay in the Seattle area after graduation. I was really happy with my undergrad experience and I never felt like class size ever hindered me from getting to know the faculty better. Might be different for other folks. I'm going to the Evans school open house since I'm in town, but I probably won't go there since I wanted to do my undergrad and grad in different places, but the school definitely has a good reputation in the area.
  4. Thanks for the info, Stan! I'll be at the open house. I'm 90% sure I'll go to GSPP and I'm hoping the open house confirms that. I'm surprised at how little debt is. Definitely good news!
  5. I believe Michigan's academic calendar is in trimesters. I'm not sure how it's different than semesters (My undergrad was in quarters). Can somebody explain? As far as tuition goes, my GSPP letter told me I could probably get in state tuition for my 2nd year if I go there, so I would pay my first year at out of state tuition rates and my second year at in state tuition rates, reducing the cost by quite a bit. I'm guessing Michigan might do something similar, although I'm not certain. Does anyone know if that's a possibility?
  6. I also received my acceptance as well. The email said aid information is coming later in the upcoming few weeks, I believe.
  7. Dagger, I see your signature says you are attending Michigan. Can you explain why you chose Michigan over the other schools like Duke, Chicago, GPPI, CMU, and others? As the decisions are coming in, I find myself constantly torn between different programs.
  8. Sorry if this is a dumb question, but I'm a little confused about the FAFSA process. The last time I filled one out was my freshmen year in college and I have no recollection how it worked. I filled out my FAFSA at the end of January/early Feb and I've recently been accepted into several master's programs. If FAFSA determines I'm eligible for subsidized or unsubsidized loans, do I hear back from FAFSA or from the school I choose to attend? And when would I hear back?
  9. I couldn't find LBJ's employment or internship placements anywhere on their website. Does anybody know where they usually place students or can somebody link me to employment statistics? Thanks!
