  1. so47 - Thanks so much for the advice. I don't mind living a little far from campus. I'm thinking about just getting a bike to commute from campus and so forth. Heard parking at Cornell is quite expensive also. Have you decided on your housing as well?
  2. I applied for housing in Hasbrouck yesterday since I got my acceptance pretty late. From all the posts here it seems like grad on-campus housing isn't great but I'm also coming back to the states after working abroad so I won't have a chance to see apts. Any thoughts on Hasbrouck?
  3. I got my letter from Georgetown last night and I'm currently overseas so I'm guessing if your domestic you should be knowing quite soon. I was waitlisted by the way...BLERG! Anyone know how the Waitlist system works at Georgetown? I don't have high hopes of getting in off the waitlist but just curious.
  4. Did you find out your funding offer from SIS via email or did it come in with your acceptance letter? Just curious since I got my acceptance packet but they didn't mention whether I got funding or not.
  5. Got my acceptance today as well! Currently living in Asia so for those overseas, I'm guessing you should be getting your letters soon. One of the green flyers says that merit-based funding is given upon notification of admission. Does that mean I find out after I send in my acceptance letter? Could somebody let me know?
  6. Yea, I'm with you on that one regarding name value. Although I didn't apply to Maxwell I know that they have a great program. For me, I wanted to be as close to DC or NY, where it all goes down, as possible. But, if you are planning to work in the policy field than Maxwell might be a better fit. For my friend, she's now in Malaysia working for the private sector so I guess it comes down to what our plans are after graduation.
  7. i haven't received anything yet either. this is depressing. i didn't have the econ requirements but have an engineering background so I thought that might help. I wonder if GT made all their decisions or are doing waves like SIPA. *sigh*
  8. Do they only send decisions through postal?
  9. I got accepted to the International Relations program also. I have a friend from undergrad who just graduated from NYU with a concentration in Political Economy. From her words, NYU is more academic & theory based rather than policy focused as SIPA and SAIS. Most of her colleagues in grad school were hoping to pursue a PhD after graduation and so was she until she decided to change track. I'm definitely weighing the pros and cons but haven't heard back from any of the DC schools yet. Argh~
  10. Yes, there hasn't been much talk about Georgetown's MSFS program this year. It's definitely one of my first picks but looking at last year's posts on this site, people weren't notified until the last week of March via Email. keeping my fingers crossed~
