I got into Yale and Parsons for painting. I am scared that the isolation in New Haven will stunt my work - I need the stimulation of a city. Any thoughts on which school to choose? Yale has a stronger program but Parsons is in New York.....I got a good vibe from both when I visited. Thoughts?

Waitlists are intense. If anyone knows about stats for schools or how likely it is to get in off a waitlist let us know. Thanks!

First off I think they do waitlist but that its hard to get off of (most applicants accept Yale). I applied for painting and have heard nothing - the portal doesn't have any news either. Graphic design did interviews a week before painting and sculpture was the week after painting. Because of this I can see how we might all find out at different times. As for Yale painting - they did tell me two weeks and no portal update as of yet. Has anyone been accepted for painting? What it seems to me is that nothing has been sent out. Don't fret - I think we still all have a chance. Good luck to everyone.

I am about to go check to school out, sit in on some classes, and meet with faculty. I will let you know what I think.

When I got my email from RISD they said all final selections for the painting program had been mailed already. They asked if I didn't want to wait for the letter they could email me the results. I did not get in. Good luck to everyone - if you get antsy I guess you can email or call the office.

Helen Foresdale: What does that even mean? They let people into the Theater and Writing programs but not Visual Arts without interviews? I keep hearing different stories from different people. I guess we should just all wait in the mail for our rejection letters and see what happens from there. Good luck to everyone. I know how this process is tough. All Apps for Painting. Anyone else in a similar situation?

Just got an email from the RISD admissions office. Letters have been mailed - they should come in the next few days depending on how far you live from RI. Good luck to everyone!

rejected from SVA for all waiting. I heard via snail mail today. Looks like its waiting on Yale and to see if I get in off the waitlist to Parsons. I applied to six schools after being out of undergrad for a year. Looks like it may be making coffee for another year and putting together a better portfolio. No off chance something got messed up and I will be waitlisted at Parsons or Columbia without an interview right?

I know this is annoying but it seems everyone else has heard from SVA but me. If you heard back for the fine arts program please let me know how....THANKS!

Waitlist I am on the top of the Parsons waitlist and REALLY want to go. All thats left is hearing from Yale after my interview. Anyone know the chances of getting in off the waitlist? I am hoping that some of you painting Parsons acceptance people also got into to better schools. I am freaking out a bit here.

West Coast applying to East Coast Schools. I have not heard anything at all from RISD Columbia SVA Anyone on the west coast get anything from these schools for painting yet. This is starting to make me nuts. Thanks!

RZN: I had my painting interview at Yale on Tuesday as well. I felt like the faculty interview went well and the grad interview went AWFUL. I wonder how much the grad students have a say? They were way more harsh and scary. What did you think?

Anyone have an update on SVA? Would be greatly appreciated. Also - Yale interview is really low key and friendly - was not expecting that.

Update for those on the West Coast. I got three new letters today in the mail. Here is my situation. Accepted: ? Waitlist: Parsons Interview: Yale Rejected: NYU, MICA Mt. Royal, Pratt Waiting: RISD, Columbia, SVA All in Painting or Fine Arts MFA.
