  1. U of T is driving me crazy. Hurry up, please lol! Anyone hear back from them yet?
  2. As long as you have at least a B+ in their approved statistics courses, you meet the minimum quantitative requirements for UBC. The GRE can be used as an alternative but as of now, it's not required.
  3. Congrats!!! Somewhat odd they're sending out offers on a long weekend, though. So I guess April 30th is not a strict date, they might be contacting us even earlier (which is great).
  4. You're welcome! I think at least a year to show that you're committed and dedicated. Unfortunately, a lot of professionals seem to apply to UBC so those of us applying after our undergrad are at a disadvantage in that respect.
  5. I spent over a year going back and forth with advisors at UBC to see what it would take to get accepted into the MPH program. One of the main things they told me was that the quantitative skills requirement is very strict. They don't allow exceptions (nothing below a B+), which is why I took another Stats course at UBC, aced it...and still didn't get into the damn program. Still though, I wish you good luck. I'll also reiterate what the UBC advisors told me (at least for their MPH program). They want public health experience, particularly paid experience that shows them you're interested in different aspects of the field, I suppose. This certainly worked against me, but I hope it won't be the case for you. Best of luck.
  6. Thank you so much! That definitely clears things up for me.
  7. Hi everyone! Been a lurker for several weeks and I figured I should just register and actually post. I applied to UBC, Queen's, U of T and McMaster. I got rejected from UBC (which sucked as I live in Van and did my undergrad there) and McMaster. I got an offer from Queen's a few weeks ago (I accepted it) and I'm waiting for U of T. Any idea when U of T rolls out their offers? I emailed them back in March and their only response was that everyone would know by the end of June. That's pretty late, and I don't expect most of us to have to wait a few more months.
