  1. Hello my fellow waiting crew, So today I received an email from my apartment complex notifying me I have a package waiting for me in the office. Naturally, I wonder if it is an admissions package/ envelope, right?! So I ask if they can tell me who it is from before I step out of work and drive down to the complex to see this wonder in person. .... It's from See's Candies. First time in my FEMALE LIFE I've been disappointed about receiving free chocolate... . I didn't think that was possible... sigh.
  2. Hi Archies! I got my B.Arch from USC and I'm applying for an MFA this year. BUT i thought I would add my boyfriends stats on here since he's applying for an M. Arch in case this helped anyone and maybe someone had some info on the schools he's not heard from. Applied: LSU, U. of Houston, UTexas- Arlington, UTexas- San Antonio, U. of Florida. Accepted: LSU via phone call on March 8th and has not heard anything else. Anyone heard back from any of the other schools??
  3. Thanks!! Although I'm holding out on LSU as it is my first choice. UT San Antonio told me they were still working on the paper work and would be forwarding the final decisions to the graduate school within the next week or so. Good luck and I hope you hear something soon!
  4. Thanks for all the info, although I applied for MFA in Graphic Design. They told me at the beginning of the month that I had been waitlisted and that I should hear from them within a couple of weeks. Still waiting...
  5. Congrats to everyone ya'll are getting into some amazing schools! I wanted to ask, if anyone has heard anything from LSU? Thanks!
  6. Awsome! Congrats! What program are you going for? I'm on the waiting list for MFA in Graphic Design and my boyfriend is going for his M. in Architecture.

    Houston, TX

Hi, I currently live in Houston and I came here two years ago from LA. The cost of living can be as low as $500 dlls for a one bedroom apt, in an so so part of town (over by the 610 west) you can pay about 900-1000 a month for a really nice/ clean/ good managed property one bedrrom apartment (AMLI, Avistele) in the downtown/ river oaks area and its also an 8dlls max cab ride from anywhere you would want to go out to at night. I think the best areas to live are montrose/ river oaks. washington. Some places charge up to $1,300 (midtown) a month but its really unecessary and they aren't any nicer that the ones that are 300-400 dlls cheaper. All rent here includes trash water and parking. So it can really range depending on what you want. You probably want to stay away from areas south of town by the Hobby airport or the Reliant Center. Good coffee places you've got Epicure cafe and Inversion Coffee. Let me know if you're curious about anything else! Going somewhere new can be crazy, I came here without knowing anything about the city or anyone that lived here and found everything out the hard way so i'd be glad to help!
  8. Its nice to hear from someone that applied to some of the same schools as me. This is me so far: UTexas, Arlington- Accepted UFlorida- Rejected UTexas, San Antonio- No word LSU- Waitlisted I wish I knew the chances of getting off of a waiting list because the the wait is driving me crazy, so if anyone has any info please share . But can I ask you how and when did you hear back from LSU? I applied for an MFA in Graphic Design and I was told I was waitlisted on March 9th and that I should hear back in a couple of weeks. Thanks!
  9. Hi Ya'll I'm new here. I did not apply to extremely pretigious East coast schools, I went to undergrad at USC so I thought I would focus on the south for an MFA. In case anyone applied to these schools here are my stats: Univ. Florida- rejected Univ. Texas, Arlington- accepted LSU- Waitlisted Univ. Texas, San Antonio- No word Anyone have any info from UTA, LSU, or UTSA? Thanks!
