Thanks and congrats! I guess this means we are out of our references haven’t been contacted.
so we can start thinking about the odds that next year they open up a comms track again. i certainly hope so!

Hi all,
Thanks for sharing the updates here as they have been very helpful to me personally. I applied to NETI's communication specialist track in early August, and 3 of my references have received the instruction to fill out the reference check form on November 28th. And then for some reason, they called two of my references again just two days ago to ask more questions. My ex boss said that it seems like they are close to making decisions. Let's keep the hope up and I wish we all receive some good news soon!
thanks for sharing and good luck!

nor here. i find it difficult to remain optimistic

hi guys.
separate random question: do you happen to have any insights into whether unicef hires outsiders for P4-level positions? outsiders as in candidates that obviously would be considered fit for the job but with no unicef experience.
thanks.

here yes how about you?

I think you should, they have very odd timings and are somewhat unpredictable: last year I kept passing each stage of selection with one month of delay witha final rejection letter in May 2017 ! So it's not said until you get that email! Hang on in there guys!
so sweet of you to say, thanks:)

you guys think we should still have some hope?

nothing on my end either. thanks for sharing

Does anybody know how many candidates were invited to the final interview? I guess almost 50 ( if they only were invited to interviews in the morning) just doing some numbers
no idea. but that would also be my assumption - also using it as a way to feel better about myself throughout the waiting:))

They said over 1,700 people applied...but I don't know how many got to the final interview.
I'm sure they will contact the references of those who passed the interview only.
I keep on thinking of how I should have better answered some of the questions!!!! :-S
Also, my interview was only in English, yours??
Mine as well, I was expecting at least one question in my second language. And I also keep thinking my answers could have been better! And the phone line was not great... well, we shall see.
Good luck everyone!!

Congrats both!!! Apparently I did not make it this time, but will keep fingers crossed for you two!
If you do not mind, would you give me any advice on the written exam? I really did not have time to complete everything and could not draft with my own words in many parts. In addition, if you have any sources which could be helpful to understand the writing style they would like. Many thanks in advance for your help!In my view, it's all about practice and time management. Difficult to offer any advice though as I do think relevant past professional experiences help with the two.

Hi Jeyjey and Mark. All I know is that they will invite successful candidates for an interview, tentatively scheduled for Oct/Nov. To my knowledge, candidates who failed the written exam of any UN organisations are always notified after their whole recruitment process is done.
However, I won't be surprised if they sent us invitations finally in Nov/Dec, though.
thanks both. fingers crossed to all.

No, I haven't heard back yet. I think we'll be notified by the end of November/beginning of Dec. Regardless if you have or not previous work experience with UNICEF, the exam was way too long in my opinion. Anyways, we'll see....
i'm also waiting following the competency-based tests for communication. i found the written one ok, even without unicef experience, although very long indeed. less comfortable with the oral though, more difficult from my perspective. but overall, i thought the experience was useful.
do you guys expect the results for final stage selection in october?
best of luck everyone!
UNICEF NETI Program Notifications?

Hi all.
Does anyone have any news about the NETI 2018 selection? I thought it would be launched around the same time as last year.
Thanks!
