I'm going to go ahead and assume troll. The comment about "poor stats" is pretty ridiculous.
-
Anybody else surprised about the lack of an official rejection from Berkeley? Most years it's a day or two after they send out rejections.
-
That much is not, IR.
-
Same with me at Washington. Just hang in there until you've heard back everyone. And congrats to everyone who got into Michigan today. Not going to lie, was really hopeful for that program, but at the same time in no way surprised. Feel as if that's the nature of applications to top programs!
-
Out of like's to give on this website today, but fully agree. Wish every school operated in that way with acceptances/rejections.
-
Rejection from Michigan, at least they're quick. Congrats to those accepted.
-
Regarding UCSB, historically it takes a few more weeks before we'll hear back.
-
I'm stoked, definitely high on my list! I did have an interview.
-
Just got my first acceptance with funding at UW-S! Looks like they took the rolling admissions approach this year.
-
I'm not giving up hope yet. Maybe we're rejected, but I think it's a bit premature for those calling it over. This would be the earliest they notified all accepted since the results board started back in 2006. Maybe it was the quickest year for them in 12 years of applicant tracking, but I think there's a reasonable chance not all have been contacted.
-
Seconded.

Regarding University of Washington, I think sometime next week is the earliest we'll hear, and given their historical results I don't think the week after would be too shocking. Looks like they shifted from the 1st week in February to the 2nd week the last two years. That said I don't think they did as many interviews in previous years given the results page, so it's fair to say they may have changed things up a bit so who knows. Is your estimate based on anything in particular?
-
Congrats to everyone getting into their top schools today! Hopefully the time comes for the rest of us in the next few weeks!
-
For some reason only one person posted their acceptance last year to Boulder and that was February 9th. Even stranger to me is how they went from 7-8 post results each year to 1 last year.
-
Feeling the same way. The fit seemed good, but ultimately they only have so many spots!
-
Well, I'm going to give it through tomorrow to hope that an acceptance at Northwestern comes through, but looking at past years they might be done. Given the rate of admits posted to the results board, 6 were posted last year, 7 the year before, and 6 the year before. We're already at 5 (+1 in this thread), so I'm thinking it's not looking great. Who knows though, there's always variance!
-
Ah! The Northwestern acceptances are making me anxious (congrats though!). If I'm rejected, I just want to get it over with, but at the same time I don't want to give up hope until more acceptances come through!
-
To me, the theory that they are simply letting students know they're going to be later than previous years seems the most likely. I'm sure they know that we all look at previous dates for our expectations, and I'm also sure that the phone calls and emails that some graduates send trying to get details on decision dates annoy them. I didn't apply there, but to me it's just them giving people a friendly heads up to not expect any word over the next few weeks.

Today is so slow on the admissions results page that even the trolls took a break.
-
I don't want to discourage you though, because maybe it does mean something in your case! I just wanted to share that I also found it weird how a university would make such a request, but I'm sure there's a logical explanation for them.
-
No, but it was all the way back in December. At the school that requested them the application goes to the graduate office, I think they check that everything is complete, and then send complete applications to the department. Pretty sure it's just a university wide policy that if transcripts are from a non-English speaking country they like to have both just to be careful, at least at the university I applied to.
-
The same thing happened to me at another school. My university offers official transcripts in multiple languages to help out graduating students, and for whatever reason one of the American universities I applied to also requested a native language copy, even though the English copy is considered official by my university.
-
I've only received interview requests so far, no official acceptance or rejections, and they notified me through email. Both of them came last Monday afternoon.
-
Small request, but I think something we should be aware of for the coming weeks is be more clear about "Washington", as I've seen people (including myself) using it to describe both University of Washington and Washington University in St. Louis. Congrats to everyone with an official admit at this point!

With Northwestern I would be surprised if they don't announce this week. Given past years result last week was a possibility, so if we don't hear back this week that would be outside their norm. With the other 3, I think all are a possibility this week, but at the same time I'm a bit uncertain. Given the trend of this application cycle so far, the norm seems to be schools are coming out a couple of days or a week later than previous years. So if you told me all 3 of those came out this week I could believe it, but if none of them announced this week I could believe it too.
