  1. I don't know if you have looked into the University of Michigan, but the program is fully funded and you are paid to teach. Another bonus is the fact that you don't have to apply to a specific department, so you are free to combine whatever mediums you see fit. The technology you have available to you is also amazing. To top it all off they give you money to travel anywhere in the world that you want after your first year! I know this is a super late response, but if you end up waiting one more year I would keep UMich in mind. Good luck this time around though!
  2. By U of M do you mean the University of Miami or the University of Michigan? If you mean the University of Michigan, they are very conceptual, and quite open in general.
  3. Thank you! That is a very nice compliment! I got into the University of Michigan's Art & Design 3 year PAID program!!! It is a very interdisciplinary program with a ton of amazing and technologically advanced resources! I have a lot of BIG ideas! I will also be taking science classes while I am there to help inform my work. I started a graduate school blog: http://www.esposedpreserved.com I will update it with the work I do in school. I am very very excited!
  4. I was really curious as to what everybody else was sending in too! Here is my website with most of what I used in my portfolio : http://www.jessicajoyart.com This is a great thread, because it is really hard to find fine artist websites by searching google! Everybody is really amazing too!
  5. It is sooooo great!!! I worked my tush off and it actually paid off!! I am going to be a TA too, and I hope they put me in a class with freshmen undergrads... I have never done anything like that before, and I look like I am 16!
  6. I am experiencing PASD

  7. I just got into a 3 year paid program. I was #1 on the wait-list, and I was so nervous. I thought, who in their right mind is going to give up a spot (10 total) in a 3 year paid program??? I was woken up Friday morning with the unbelievable news. Seriously, I still can't believe it... and I was starting to think I was crazy for not being the most ecstatic person in the world, or at least just ecstatic... Now I know I am normal, and that a lot of us are going through these feelings of inadequacy. We just have to try our very best and prove it to ourselves that we can work really hard!!!
  8. I got into the University of Michigan's 3 year paid MFA program, and I will be studying biology and art!!! I couldn't be more excited!!!!! This is the biggest and best thing to ever happen to me!!!!
  9. YES!!!! I interviewed at UMich and it was brutal. I had to present the portfolio I submitted to the program and then I was asked questions from the 3 faculty members and 1 graduate student who were in the room with me. The lady right next to me really made me so nervous for some reason. I felt like I couldn't access any of the information I could have accessed if I had time and room to think right. I was mortified after I got out of the interview! However, I am #1 on the wait-list, so I didn't screw up too badly. I understand how you feel, and I wish you the best of luck!
  10. I only applied to UMich, but it was really the only school I really really wanted to go to. My portfolio is so diverse when it comes to the media I work with, but is drawn together by my concepts. This means that most schools wouldn't work well for me. I know it was dumb, and that I could have found at least a few other programs that I could have made work for me, but I just wanted to put allllll my effort into UMich. Luckily I am 1st on the wait-list and they say that every year at least 1 person from the wait list gets in. I just have to wait patiently, but the fact that I didn't apply anywhere else makes this SO much more stressful. I wish you the best!!!!!
  11. I second the t-shirt idea! This has been the craziest roller coaster ever!
  12. They pick the top 10, and I am #11. The assistant said that every year at least somebody drops their spot, and unless there is an anomaly this year I should be okay. I just hope there isn't a possibility of me getting pushed back from #1 on the waiting list... Yes, Michigan is really the only school that I feel is absolutely perfect for me!
  13. I am so nervous. I am #1 on the waiting list at UMich.... I don't know if I will get any sleep until April 15th! How common is it for anybody to reject a spot at an MFA program that offers a full ride?
