  1. Has anyone heard from HKS? Couple of acceptances on the results page...yikes!
  2. Also rejected. I can't say I am particularly gutted as it was a reach school. Did anyone on this thread make it?
  3. That's interesting. Did you call them to find out? I guess it makes sense that they are on a different schedule this year since we had a January deadline. Pretty sure they had a December deadline last year.
  4. HKS just posted decisions for their political economy and government PhD. Expecting PPOL PhD decisions soon! Also ruminating over Harris. The decisions were out by this time last year (Feb 17)...
  5. Yes, there was even a current grad student on the webinar who was explaining what they look for in applicants. I think she said that they look for strong LoRs in which the professor would ideally comment on how the student ranks among other PhDs he has recommended and placed in the past. Unsurprisingly, they also look for 'fit' and the candidate's research interests in the SOP. She also said that they look for evidence of a strong quant background - you would ideally have linear algebra, real analysis, and differential equations. I wonder where are they in the process now. They held another webinar on Friday (Feb 2) but I didn't manage to attend it.
  6. According to their admissions FAQ, there is no formal interview process for PhD applicants. I recently listened to their last admissions webinar. Apparently, the existing grad students shortlist the applications that will be reviewed by the relevant professors on the admissions committee. I thought that was an interesting approach.
  7. I am on the same boat as you guys. Goodluck everyone!
  8. Happy to share my background (not sure if there is a specific format) and would be keen to hear about yours! International student Undergrad university: top university in Australia, good grades (no idea how to convert to GPA), finance major. Masters: MSc from LSE, finance and economics with distinction. Work experience: 3 years in economics consultancy in London with experience in the energy sector, 2 years in development consultancy between undergrad and MSc. GRE: Q169 V169 AWA5.5. LORs: pretty sure that the professors don't remember me so they are just reinforcing my transcript. 2 professors and 1 associate professor (all tenured). Interests: climate change and energy policy. Schools: so far have only applied to reach schools - Stanford EIPER, Harvard Kennedy School and Cambridge. Have another 6 on my list but not sure how many I will end up applying to. If I don't get in anywhere (which is highly likely), I am happy to apply again next year with more time and hopefully, wisdom from this cycle.
  9. New to this forum. I just submitted two applications yesterday and am ready to start ruminating already. What are your research interests and main worries? I am interested in climate change policy, and I am worried that I haven't taken enough math courses in my undergrad.
  10. I believe that Chicago Harris has its deadline in early Jan.
