  1. It absolutely cannot hurt to try! That’s a good GPA, and I bet you would have a good chance of getting in. The main issue would be scholarship, because you didn’t apply by the priority deadline. I think a scholarship would still be possible, but not guaranteed. I’ve read threads from 2015/2016 where people applying after the priority deadline still received scholarships. Why not go for it?
  2. Much to my surprise, I was offered a Special Programs scholarship. I am thrilled. The overall cost is still quite expensive, but this makes it hard for me to say no to Michigan. Did anyone receive any sort of scholarship in addition to the Special Programs scholarship? I did not.
  3. I was accepted last week Now just waiting on the scholarship information. I know we're all guaranteed $20k, which is cool, but I'm hoping for more because Case is quite expensive. How much have other received in merit-based aid?
  4. Have you emailed them?
  5. I got $5k per semester too. So glad finally to have the letter! @mkern2 Are you sure yours is only for one year? That's how mine looks too, but then the last sentence says it will automatically be renewed so long as I meet all the basic requirements (12 credits, 3.0 GPA, etc.). So really, I'm counting it as $20k.
  6. Dang. Sorry to hear that it was lower than expected. Based on the few anecdotes in this thread, is seems like Pitt might be giving lower offers than in past years? If so, that's too bad.
  7. Was it for all four semesters, or only for the first two?
  8. Disappointing that they only offered a scholarship for one year! That’s weird. Pitt isn’t my top choice in terms of program, but it likely will be my most affordable choice. I’m out of state at all the schools I’m applying to, because I’m ready to move.
  9. Sorry to hear that you didn’t get as much as you were hoping for :-/ Where do you think you’ll go instead? Well, this marks the first scholarship received. At least we know it’s finally starting...
  10. Bummer that they won’t send an email or post it online in addition to snail mail.
  11. Thanks so much for the insight, Leah. A lot of that rings true based on my experience in cities like Pittsburgh. And I much prefer the west coast too. Still no new$ on my end. I even tried calling the school this week but no luck reaching anyone. Hopefully we begin to hear back soon (but I’ve been saying that for weeks).
  12. Hello Leah! That's great to hear re: the scholarship letters. When you say "yesterday," does that mean Monday or Tuesday? I ask b/c you posted pretty late at night And wow, you received an awesome scholarship. Thanks for offering to answer questions. How are you liking the program so far? Have you received much mentorship, whether from faculty, or in your field placements? And in general, how did you like your first year field placements? Finally -- how are your classmates?
  13. I’m in the same boat. Actually, Pitt will be the cheapest no matter what. So the question will be whether it is worth it for me to pay more to go to another program that is better for my interests. That will depend on HOW much cheaper Pitt is... Also, you definitely should get a scholarship given that you have 3.4+!
  14. I think Pitt will probably give an extension if needed. I hope I won't need to ask for one, but it's possible that I will still be waiting to hear back from one school by then. I really hope we receive our scholarship info this week! I hope it's true that it will show up on the Pitt portal, because it will be agonizing to wait an extra week while the letter winds its way through the U.S. mail system...
  15. Definitely not for sure. I'm not making any decisions without scholarship info! Meanwhile I received a good offer from one of my top choices, and I'm waiting to hear from a third. I probably won't decide for 3 or 4 more weeks.
