two years ago, I found out from my Grad Office about my PDF results, so they know.

anyone waiting for Nserc PDF wants to volunteer to ask the Graduate office about the NSERC PDF?

Thank you for the status regarding UWO. I am wondering if they know PDF results. I sent an email yesterday afternoon to the Graduate office but didn't get a response yet.

Two years ago when I applied directly to NSERC for PDF, my university informed me in advance about the outcome. I guess they can see all the NSERC results.

did anybody ask the department for the NSERC PDF results?

I know someone who took the NSERC PDF here, in US and he gets some payment in top of the NSERC, but he has full benefits, I didn't hear him complaining. Do you want to wait for your letter at the US address or you try to find out from your former Canadian university?

Yes, I am a PDF waiting for the results. What do you mean 'how is going to work being at a foreign university'? I am at a US univ. and I hope I can take the fellowship anywhere if I am awarded.

I asked my former university (UWO) and they said the same thing: "NSERC has not yet released results". I am in US, who knows when I will get the letter if they didn't even sent the notifications to the universities...

If you don't care about money, NSERC PDF gives you the possibility of choosing a famous university/mentor for your postdoc, but looking financially, MITACS is better but it's only in Ontario.

Thank you mr93...but I didn't get MITACS either.. Just wondering, are you and ABD (or fresh PhD) or you are already a postdoc. Did anybody get a fellowship (NSERC PDF or MITACS Elevate) being ABD or you have some experience as a postdoc? I find very competitive the position which says "to have a PhD within 5 years", because I compete with some postdoc with double publications and teaching experience and I think I get no credit for being fresh PhD with only some publications, am I right?

I got an email from MITACS and the lady said that all applicants will be announced by email TODAY... Let's hope for the best!

Don't worry UTgradst, your quality doesn't stand in getting or not NSERC PDF, but in your research results. Maybe those NSERC reviewers weren't quite in your research or just didn't agree/like your research. Your publishing record is more than good for the third year PhD. good luck !

I am very disappointed too and it hurts bad ... At the time of application I had 2 published articles and one under revision, all first author, I was awarded with OGS in past, strong recommendation letters and my application was super-revised by my supervisor , who has good experience in successful grants and...didn't get PDF. I know somebody with 3 published paper, first-author from which one article was in a very prestigious journal and didn't get PDF....this is competition....

This is soooo ridiculous .... I am sorry for you... That means The Grad school will receive the PDF results even if you applied directly to NSERC?

The departments receive only the successful applicants list? Should I worry if my secretary didn't see any known names in that NSERC list or just the PDF results are not given to my University?

I just asked my secretary and she said she got the NSERC results today but couldn't find anything from PDF uuuugh...She will keep looking.
