    Great :) Yes thats what I've expected, but I've also heard, the partner can still get the subsidy when earning around 450 Euros. I think this would be quite doable for someone not too capable of German (most of the employers unfortunately require a good level of German, even for dishwashing ?

    On the bright side, I've already been accepted to my top choice Master's program in Germany! I'll be going anyway and funding it myself. I've already applied for a dorm with the Studierendenwerk and everything, so I'm trying not to let this get me down. 

    For other USA applicants who's status is "Selection Made"-- viel glück!!!

    Also try other scholarships, there are plenty. For example KAS, and other political party scholarships. :)

    I am sorry to hear about your rejection. But I don't think they only fund people from renowned universities. I am from Costa Rica and i was at an unknown university and was accepted , while a friend of mine from a prestigious university got rejected. Also my advisors and professors don't know anything about DAAD. Could be also different depending on the regions. I know that in Costa Rica very few people apply to DAAD.

    I contacted my future PhD supervisor and he told me I have to do it once I arrive to Germany. He said generally for PhD students there is no hurry for that

    I saw that you and another applicants who got mentioned that your dates changed, mine didnt change at all, do you know why they change dates,  is there a hope to get even my dates didnt change until now? I didnt apply for language training, I have B1/B2 German knowledge.

    I applied for PhD, from Balkan.

    Dates only change when you did not enter a one year period at the time of application. for example i entered the whole period for phd (3 years) and they changed it to one year, so if you already entered one year, they wont change it. and in my case they asked me if i want to participate in language training

    and also concerning status / dates changes.. there seems to be no "frame" which they follow. they always seem to do something different with all applicants.

    I was asked the same too through email. To confirm if I accept. But it was a preliminary enquiry and that my response will be communicated to Bonn office which will start further procedures. That "sending further information" is probably going to be in April..:mellow:

    Ohhhh :( however, the lady that contacted me through email is already located in Bonn. Maybe you have a regional office that is sending out results etc. My regional office is not responsible for that

    Thats late! I was asked to confirm my acceptance as soon as possible so they can send me all further information:huh:

    one thing: my status was ''application submitted'' all the time it didn't change to '' pre-selection made'' or ''hard copies received''  

    does that mean anything ? :P

    Doesn’t mean anything! Mine never changed and Friday I received the acceptance mail:)

    I dont have any changes, just paper copies received.

    What is your field of study?

    Mine is clinical psychology 

    For me my dates changed a week before I received the email that I got it

    Congrats :) did you receive an email? I only received email but cannot see declaration of acceptance on the portal.

    Not yet, just that it starts October so according to the change they made in my funding period beforehand :)

    i am still in the mode that i cannot believe it because no status change at all for all the time and suddenly the email ...

    i had no status change either. My guess is if your dates changed, thats an "early indicator" that you might have got it already.
