This is not on the topic of news about getting a SSHRC, but in my anxiety I had one question: Does not winning a SSHRC at any point in doctoral studies significantly harm your chances of getting a tenured position after university? Is there an immediate discrimination against non-SSHRC winners?

A friend of mine told me he heard back after contacting the federal awards officer at their university! It seems this is an option, but I just don't have the nerve.

Hmm. In that case, I would be tempted to just contact the Federal Awards Officer directly, and maybe get a reply?

Out of curiosity, for those of you who were looking to the Michael Smith application as an indication of results . . . Are you looking directly below the "New Application" itself on the first page that comes up, or are you taking as an indicator whether or not it comes up after clicking on that link? Yeah, still no acknowledgement on my end either (i'm from UoT). Those of you who have/have not heard back yet . . . what unis are you from?

Has everybody who has been forwarded to Ottawa gotten the "acknowledgment of application" email? I am wondering specifically about applications forwarded from UoT. I have not gotten one yet. Last I heard was the email from School of Graduate Studies informing that my application would be forwarded.
