UCLA/Chicago may be hearsay but should I prepare myself for rejections if I haven't heard from Duke or Berkeley yet? Judging from the survey it looks like (especially with Berkeley) no news on the 1st seems to mean 99% chance of rejection...

Subfield theory and feel sick that I haven't gotten anything from Berkeley. Looking at the survey results it looks like it's about 99% certain it's a reject if it doesn't come on the 1st -- is that correct? I know they only accept like three students for theory and my Berkeley application was probably the weakest but god this whole process is insanely nerve-wracking...
