  1. Seachange- I got rejected from NYU Steinhardt via snail mail. My fiance went to Parson's, but for fashion design. She learned alot, but it was competitive, and it didn't seem like the people spent much time bonding as a program. The MFA painting may be different, as I'm assuming it's smaller- The school's in a great location near Union Sq. and NYU. Plus you get access to that enormous NYU library.
  2. So I got wait listed at Pratt for Drawing and Painting. Got a friend to check my snail mail for me in my little post office box-- but haven't been able to check my packages, etc... as it was too late at night. Do you think that means theirs a special delivery from SVA acceptance letter waiting there? Because otherwise I haven't heard a word, and it seems that everyone who got in got it through priority mail of some kind. Was it a big folder? Or just a small expedited letter? Still no word from Columbia AT ALL-- which can't be good as other people have been interviewing on here. Painful- especially after they lost some of my materials, then found them again, then couldn't find my statement and resume. I had to pay 30 bucks late fee, even after I argued til I was blue in the face that it was on their end.
  3. Works on Paper- I'm on Tuesday, the 30th for the NYSS. I don't really know what to expect, but I have a few ideas. They are so focused on drawing and fundamentals, that I know they are going to be interested in knowing that you can back up whatever abstraction etc... with a solid foundation. I think they are more interested in process than outcome, as evidenced by the marathons. I'm just going to be myself, which involves no bullshit, and no highminded art speak. They seem like they'll appreciate honesty more than trying to impress. Good luck to you-- do you know anything about their acceptance numbers? Interviews versus accepted, etc...? Well hopefully we'll be classmates, as I know I will grow the most as an artist there ( if I get in.) Cheers.
  4. Hello everyone. I've been reading all the posts, and I can't say I've had much luck so far. I've been out of the country for the last couple of weeks, and won't be back for one more. So, after reading what everyone else has said, it looks like those decisions are waiting in my mail box for me right now-- which is making me tear my hair out. I feel the NY Studio School is definitely my best fit- I really hope I nail this interview. I applied to 10 schools thinking it would increase my chances... I'm beginning to think I should've spent more time on fewer apps. Good luck to anyone still stuck in my boat. Been rejected by Yale Hunter NYU Bard Waiting On-- SVA Pratt Columbia MICA Waitlisted-- NYAA Interview next week for NY Studio School
