After 2 Berkeley acceptances posted in the results section - late jan and early feb - it's been deathly silent.
And they had one of the early submission deadlines. Why is it so quiet!?
Yes its working for an international art foundation that puts up a reputable and old biennale also. Great/Large team and good resources to work with. I work in the research and publications area - one I had asked to be placed in. So the job is great, but would have liked to go to grad school. My strongest LOR advisor told me that I should stay at the job at least 2 years before I applied because I shouldn't waste this opportunity to do some real work.
Yes...I mean I am very lucky to have found an excellent job at a reputable international institution, doing what I love . Started only 4 months ago, so I have that.
But planning anything over and above seems difficult and dicey - including applying for specific residencies and research opportunities. Also want to do language preparation.
I've done my Masters in Visual Arts years ago in a specialised focus, so don't want to travel just for that - basically because I have no money! hehe
I know its too early to give up, but the euphoria of the results board (and sometimes the butchery) does not get me very excited about my prospects. Has anyone else started planning their year ahead - work, residencies, time-off - already? I feel like I should, just in case nothing comes through, and I'm not left floating like a vacant-eyed rubber ducky.
Did either of the 2 Berkeley Art History acceptances claim them here? I'm really curious about their fields and POI. If you're here, could you please PM me.
Also, does anyone know how many students they take in each cycle?
Thanks!
Apparently UCLA Art History programme only funds ONE international student a year. That's what one of the POI's told me.
I'm just wondering when that one person will post on the admissions board so I can just get my answer directly without having to wait.
Anyone heard from Berkeley Art History program? Their application deadline was super early, as well as UCLA's, and they are just so damn quiet right now.
Also, while we're at it, did any Art History applicant hear from the Graduate Center, CUNY?
I gave up on hearing from Yale the minute after I applied...sooooooo.
