  1. I am currently enrolled in a horrible M.A. program. Observe how the staff interact with students whose encounters are unplanned. Observe how students interact with each other. Do students want to interact with you? If you are brave enough, ask how they are enjoying the program and pay close attention to their expressions. If you encounter a student who is not part of the 'show' of the visit, and are brave, ask for their personal email to ask specific questions about the program. If you can find recent grads online, email them, Insta message them, etc.
  2. Congrats! Why don't you try to track down some current students or recent graduates of the program, search around Winterthur's site to get their names, and maybe use Google to find school emails, some grads even have their own website. Most publish and speak often so should not be hard to find. Much luck!
  3. Hey, you HAVE to go in person if you can. I was with CUNY at Hunter for undergrad and they lost my paperwork for 6 months when I transferred and I missed a semester.
  4. I agree, difficult to figure out.
  5. Also, if anyone wants to message me to ask about Hunter, in general, feel free because the same department runs the undergraduate and graduate programs. I am taking a graduate course at Hunter this semester, and a lot of the professors also teach undergraduate courses, so I know a number of them personally. Many professors also overlap doing undergrad at various CUNY schools, grad at Hunter, and grad at CUNY Grad, where I took a grad course last semester.
  6. Thanks for responding! What is a POI?
  7. Hey everyone, I've been scouring the Art History forums for the past couple of weeks for emotional support, this whole waiting thing is rough. Undergrad: Hunter B.A., Art History & Political Economics Grad Schools Applied: Bard, Parsons, Winterthur Interest: American Dec Arts-- especially glass, wood, and porcelain Gpa: Pretty ok Gre: Slightly above average Internships: First at a small NYC history museum, second at an art appraisal firm I got an interview with Bard, so I'm really excited. I was wondering if anyone knows what an interview means? Does it mean you're in as long as you don't turn out to be a weirdo or perceived ax murderer? I was thinking maybe it's like meeting once before an arranged marriage, like it's gonna happen no matter what but it's nice to have an idea of what you're getting into. Thanks for reading!
