    Hi Guys!

I been a long long long time lurker and I just decided to make an account. So I can give any inputs if needed.  I was accepted to Columbia University on 2/16 to the reduced residency program with a concentration in Clinical and Mental health. I sumbitted my application on 1/20 and I received a confirmed email on 1/27 stating application was completed. Im CURRENTLY waiting for an email regarding financial. I have to submit my decision by 3/16, since I was only given 30 days to decide. I will probably be calling the school by next Monday and ask for an extension, until I receive any scholarship information.

If you call, can you let us know what they say about financial aid/an extension? because i'm 10000% in the same boat

Thanks.  Did you make it in time to apply for the Dean's scholarship, or were yours need and merit based scholarships?

Mine was strictly merit based—they said it shows up as the Dean’s Account Award, if that’s the same thing, I’m not sure.

I cant help but be optimistic lol!  I am applied for the Children and families concentration as well as Title IV-e, which required interviews. We were  informed at the interview that they wanted to let us know earlier this eyear which is why they completed interviews earlier. I know it’s a long shot! I’m just thankful to have made it to March!

Oh! I did the traditional 2 year program, so you’ll probably hear back sooner! Get pumped, you’re almost there!!! Hoping you’ll hear today!!!???

I just got my acceptance to University of Southern California,  but there’s no mention of scholarships in my acceptance letter.  It’s not my first choice and I for sure couldn’t afford it without scholarships.  Still good news though!

CONGRATS!!! When I got my acceptance, it didn't say anything about financial aid either, but later the same day I got an email with my scholarship package in it from my advisor! So give it a few hours and see what they say!

Is anyone else hopeful that today being 3/1 we might hear something? Call it optimism or naïveté.

Seriously hoping, but trying not to get too excited since most people last year seemed to hear on March 15th exactly...UGHH

I'm feeling the exact same way. I already sent my deposit into Rutgers but I just want to hear if I got accepted into Columbia! The wait is ridiculous

If you send in a deposit, are you able to withdraw easily or is it a whole process? (I know you won't get the deposit back, I just hate asking for additional extensions on top of the first ones while waiting on these schools to get their ish together)

I mean the staff did say the first few weeks of March. If we don't count this week, then that would be two weeks from now. Plus if we look at the 2017 thread, a surge of people got their admission notices in February. We haven't seen that surge yet so maybe that will happen soon? I don't know, just staying positive

I keep trying to make sense of it too, but I think that this year they were hit with a lot more applications than they maybe expected, so I don't think they really have a method to the madness in terms of waiting/releasing other acceptances...just gotta be patient...as much as we possibly can at this point.

True, and i feel like most of the people who got in received the email around 5:00PM from Columbia. I am dying..

Every day at 5pm I hold my breath and refresh the email...but nothing comes. The website says on or around March 1st so I'm feeling especially nervous today...let's hope that today is our day!!
