I received an email from SJSU to check my portal. The message basically said that congrats on getting in and that we should be getting something within two weeks. Now we know it's real =)

SJSU was originally my first choice, but I’m starting to weigh out the pros and cons of attending CSULB and SJSU. I haven’t really been able to sit and think about it yet

Hi everyone!

I checked my SJSU portal and was notified that I was accepted. My friend also found out through the portal and called SJSU to clarify since we both didn't receive an email from SJSU saying anything about getting admitted, but it reflected we did on the portal. They let her know that we will be notified either by email or through mail that we were accepted. Hopefully this post has been helpful!

I’ll start worrying when people hear back and I haven’t. HOPEFULLY! They get back to us before the month ends. According to past posts, people received a phone call about getting accepted instead of an email or an application update.

I do know just one person in the online program. I work with her currently at SFUSD. She's only had good things to say about it!

I only applied to this program because I want to continue working full time while in school. How do folks go to school full time AND live in the bay area? beats me.

My status is also, “referred to grad department” and it’s been like that for over a month. I turned in my app in mid dec, so I’m really not liking the odds LOL

 

ALSO! I ended up calling SJSU (i can’t wait any longer!)and told the person that answered I turned in my app in dec and she said i’ll probably here in a couple of months and if anything they’ll change the status.

I really want to get into SJSU because I applied for the online/hybrid program which would be easier for me cause i can still manage a full time job and go to school unlike other programs. BUT! SJSU is taking awhile to get back to me so i’m pretty nervous.

I had a 3.313 from UCI in Psychology and Social Behavior, and a 3.28 at my community college. My last 60 units were all at UCI, so 3.313 is my last 60 units. I want to work with child protective services, then move onto found my own wraparound program, my passion is with the kiddos. 

I have just under a year of experience with special needs with respite care, 8 or so years of experience with children, 7 months of experience with at-risk youth, and 4 years of experience at a home for abused women and children. I was also part of an honor fraternity if that matters at all.

I currently work in accounting, just something to pay the bills, but a skill I also believe to be an important aspect to social work as it utilizes organization, management and office skills. Hope to hear from you all soon.

Hiii! I think you have a likely chance. It seems like you have experience and have a good GPA. I think the reason you haven’t heard back yet is cause they do rolling admissions.

Which other schools did you applied for?

I applied for CSULB, CSUEB and SJSU. Only heard back from CSULB though.

UCB, CSUEB then SJSU in that order.

Maybe they gave you an advisor because you're an international student? I would just call them to ask about it. When did you turn in your application?
