Are you applying to social work programs or psychology programs? I don't know much from the social work standpoint, but as a psychology major, I know one thing that was pounded into our heads was how important a good GPA was for our chances of getting into a grad school program. That said, a 3.313 is pretty great for your last 60 units, and that much experience for the field you're interested in would definitely tip the tables in your favor, in my mind.

I obviously don't really know for sure, but I hope you find your place at one of those schools! It sounds like you want to do amazing things. Good luck!!

Yeah, I have to say, I feel really weird about this. Say you get an acceptance via letter and no phone call. Does that mean you're probably going to be lower on the funding-type pole than the ones that got the phone call? It makes you wonder why they could take the time to call some people but not others. Surely printing, sealing envelopes, and sending them in the mail is a time commitment, too, right? My gut feeling is that everyone who's been accepted should be contacted about it in the same way. Otherwise you're going into the program with a shade of at least some hierarchy right off the bat. And offering back the typical "well, don't buy into it, then" that's given to any criticism of Iowa is a bit of a cop-out considering every other program doesn't seem to have this issue.

I have 7 more schools to hear back from (and another acceptance this afternoon!!!), but unless by some miracle I end up getting accepted to Brown, I'm definitely going with Saskatchewan.  Even then, Saskatchewan is not out of the question.

Honestly, at this point I just want to hear back one way or the other. I had no clue I would be so tense about this!

Question: What is The Draft?  I feel so out of the know.
I have two acceptances (University of Saskatchewan and Minnesota State, Mankato!), three rejections, and eight pending.  The acceptances have been a stress reliever, but I still jump every time I get an email.
FYI for those applying again next year, if you're feeling adventurous, Canadian schools seem to receive a lot fewer applications and most have really decent funding.  It's probably where I'll end up this fall.

I'm applying to completely different programs but I've kind of tried to adopt the no hope method. That being said, that's kind of how I live my life in general - expect the worst, but hope for the best. I don't think it will get rid of the disappointment or sadness if things don't go the way we want, but it does kind of help me get through the day to day of waiting (except for the fact that it's still kind of unbearable).

Is it just me, or do weekends feel really bizarre when you're waiting for notice on this kind of thing? I can never seem to fully relax, even though I know it's out of my hands now. 

Oh my god thank you, I'm always saying this. They ask these incredibly cliche questions, but expect a completely unique and non-cliche response, but you also have to thoroughly answer the question. How do they not see how hypocritical that is?

I applied to six programs (5 MFAs, one an MA/MS in book publishing) and have heard back from one so far (a yes from Emerson, thank you Boston). 
The stress is w i l d. I feel like I've grown attached to my phone and, specifically, my email. And my mailbox. I can't wait to just know.
