  1. Oh, fun!! The campus is pretty cool and the PACS building is amazing, I hope you enjoy your time there! The faculty and students are also incredibly friendly and welcoming, which to me made a huge impact. I look forward to meeting you too if you decide to attend
  2. @mayag Congrats on getting in!! It really is such a huge accomplishment to be accepted. I went to CU for my undergrad! Also an amazing school, but sooo expensive. I guess most AuD programs are haha. I flew out to WashU in October, and I honestly feel like that was a big reason for my acceptance. Did you visit or have a call with them?
  3. @mayag I completely understand!! I originally planned on applying to 10 for that same reason haha, but ended up narrowing it down to 5 because of the application fees. WUSTL was actually #1 on my list and the only program I was accepted to (I was waitlisted everywhere else).
  4. @mayag @speechpathy A coworker of mine is from St. Louis and she suggested Central West End as well! She also recommended driving by apartments at night to make sure it still feels safe and comfortable (which I probably wouldn't have thought to do). @mayag what other schools did you apply to?
  5. Congratulations!! I will be new to St. Louis as well (moving from Colorado). Do you know which area you'll be living in?
  6. Congratulations on making the waitlist! It's not a rejection And based on previous years it looks like they have quite a bit of movement on their WL, so you might have a good chance of making it in. Best of luck to you!
  7. I was accepted to WashU and will be attending! They offered the PACS 4 year scholarship with my acceptance letter, and have a separate financial aid app to fill out for GA/loans. Based on what I've heard from current students, it sounds like most are offered part-time paid positions in CID too.
  8. Yes, it does! I have seen April 15th for all others, so this one is just a tad earlier. So excited to hear you may attend!!! I keep searching but have not been able to find a page yet! You're both more than welcome to add me - https://www.facebook.com/tylar.mcdaniel - and then maybe we can create a page soon?
  9. Is anyone else attending WashU this fall? I accepted my offer last week and am hoping to connect with future classmates!
  10. @AuD&ChaiTea @KGross12 I read up on waitlists and how best to approach the situation before reaching out. It's recommended to follow the University's instruction, so if they ask you not to call or email it's definitely better not to! Mine did not provide any instruction other than following up to confirm or deny my spot on the list, so I used my confirmation email as an opportunity to ask a few questions - 1) is the waitlist ranked, if so what number/position am I? 2) are students typically accepted off the waitlist and approximately how many? 3) is there anything I can do to strengthen my application and improve my candidacy at this time? She responded the next day and suggested I email the director of the program, who said she would really enjoy talking to me on the phone next week. I think expressing my interest and taking the time to let them know their offer is important seemed to help in my case, but again if they ask you not to reach out it is probably best to continue waiting. Good luck to you both and I hope you hear back soon!!!
  11. @AuD&ChaiTea @KGross12 I'm not sure if this is helpful at all, but I reached out to a program after being waitlisted and it seemed to strengthen my position and show my interest. I was put in touch with the director of the program, who set up a phone call with me to get some more information. A few days after we set up the call, I was invited to the admitted student's day and sent the application for financial aid. I'm still not officially accepted (our phone call is next week), but it seems like actively reaching out initiated some movement for me towards acceptance!
  12. @frequency I saw someone posted on the gradcafe admissions results page that they received a phone call from WashU today. Praying the phone rings!!
  13. @KGross12 great!! March is so soon! Did you send your GRE scores and transcript directly to the school too or only through CSDCAS? I'm seeing some conflicting information in my emails/on the website and I'm a tiny bit worried. @becoming-ear-responsible University of South Dakota. Not a very popular program so I'm not sure if many applied there!
  14. Hi everyone! Another obsessive gradcafe observer Congratulations to all who have received acceptances!! I applied to Rush (waitlisted), UW, USF, WashU, and USD. Has anyone heard anything from any of these programs? Waiting is agony, and I'm so concerned I won't be accepted anywhere. Very low GPA, average GRE scores, but I have a lot of work and volunteer experience I thought might help balance out. Crossing all fingers and toes at least one program will say yes!
