yay! it's not a rejection! Are you considering on being kept on the waitlist?
-
Thank you!! I hope you hear back this week!!

Update: got my acceptance letter in the mail, with the merit scholarship. They pretty much gave me the same amount of scholarship as Simmons. I am definitely going to commit to BC.
-
Simmons, after merit- $45k Clinical as well! I eventually want to be a school social worker.
-
Since I’m part time- I would be charged $1,184 per credit. That’s about ~$77k, not considering if they will charge me any student fees.

I haven’t received my actual acceptance letter in the mail yet. Which I was told would have my scholarship attached (if I received any). I have to give Simmons an answer by Monday. But it seems like I have already made up my mind to go to BC, even before getting the email. Just for so many reasons. So I think Im going to decline my offer at simmons, even though I haven’t seen my package at BC. Even if I don’t get get any scholarship- I’ll be part time so I wouldn’t be living in Boston (not having to get an apartment), which means I would only accept the amount of direct loans I really need to cover classes. My current job will help pay $500 per class (only 2 classes a semester). I feel like I would be okay, financially. Am I making the wrong decision? I need some opinions

my portal was updated on friday but didn't receive an email until yesterday! probably because of the weekend. So you'll probably get something soon!
-
That's pretty weird that they won't just tell you. I'm sorry that they're doing this! That's so frustrating.
-
I think so! But not totally positive
-
Their office closed at 4 yesterday so hopefully they will reply today when they open!!
-
How long did you wait to get your letter after the email?
-
I haven’t received anything about merit or loans. I think it’s because I didn’t send in my financial aid application form sooner. I’m planning to call them tomorrow and ask when I’ll be hearing about financial aid. I sent out the form today but hopefully they’ll let me scan and email them instead so I’ll get a quicker response ?? I also hope it doesn’t mean that I’m not getting any scholarship

Thank you! Hope you and @Patriotsfan17 hear back by tomorrow!

Just got my email!

I still haven’t received an email

@lostxoco @NYMSW2018 Did you both fill out the additional financial aid form before or after they sent you a decision?

My cumulative GPA was pretty low, 2.9. BC asked for my junior/senior year GPA which was a 3.4. I didn't take the GRE though. I did my undergrad at BC. I was a double major in Applied Psychology and Human Development, and Sociology. I applied for the 3-year program so that I could work full time and go to school. This is my first year out of college. I decided to take a gap year before going back for my masters. I currently work at a nativity middle school. I'm on the administration team. My job title is pretty much Alumni Support Counselor and Family Transition. In college, I signed up for multiple mentoring programs (mentoring first year students and helping them with their transitions, and culture club "family"/group mentoring). BC undergrad offers PULSE for their theology/philosophy requirement, which requires the student to take the class and do a full year of service. My placement was at a community center in Brighton and in the Home Tutoring/Mentoring program. I was matched with a student in the community and I helped with her homework and we were required to have companionship time. A lot of one-on-one. I also taught a SAT prep course for Let's Get Ready during one of my summer (also did college prep mentoring). I also interned for GEAR-UP (Gaining Early Awareness & Readiness for Undergrad Program) throughout high school and during one semester my senior year of college. I also interned at a high school under the Assistant Headmaster. I did a lot of logistic stuff during my time there, and was given the chance to shadow and help out guidance counselors. I was also there when there was a lot of things happening in the city and they brought in Trauma Counselors. I helped with a lot of event planning, etc. I eventually want to become a school social worker.

Did they notify you about scholarships/loans in the same email they sent your decision? or was it a separate email/letter?
-
Thank you! and yes, under Account and Personal Info section.
-
I logged into my BC portal and they added a few links and sections. "Grad Enrollment Deposit" and the financial aid section. I think I got in!!!! No emailed yet though.
-
It seems like they're sending out decisions at 11am - or at least thats the time stamp from everyone that has heard back.
-
Which program did you apply for? I applied for the 3year extended program (completed by 1/17). I wonder if they're going through the traditional 2 year program applications first before the extended program.
-
Congrats! Definitely a good morning! When did you submit to BC?
-
I wonder if they’re going to let everyone know throughout the week or send out decisions on a specific day.

Has anyone heard anything from BC recently?
