One group: “Boston Apartment/Roommate search for college students”

No it didn’t list my merit.

If I end up going to BC, I’m commuting from home. But from my experience there at undergrad- a good area to look for apartment is Brighton/Allston, it’ll be on the T (b line). Cleveland circle or around the C line is a good place. Not sure how much these apartments go for, but I see a lot of Facebook posts about subletting if that’s an option for you.

@doctormelody I got my package from simmons listing out my loans today.

He said he was going to send me an email with the exact date by today. But I saw that a lot of people were doing this, and i might have to too: pay the deposit to Simmons first and wait to see what BC says and go from there.

It’s been 9 weeks since all my materials were submitted ☹️

I think he meant the financial aid waiting list lol sorry! Should’ve been more specific.

I don’t know what to do. I called Simmons asking for an extension. But he said he won’t be able to give me more than an additional few days-week or else they would have to take my merit award away and give it to someone on the waiting list. I really hope BC sends something out soon. ??‍♀️

I applied to BC and Simmons for their 3 year program, just so that I can go to school part time and work full time. I feel like if I don't go back now, I might not go back at all. I already took a year off, but I think going back part time will help financially. My loans will be deferred so that's not as bad. idk :/

Yeah hopefully they do end up getting more funds to give out. If BC doesn't work out, I want to appeal for more merit scholarship. I was offered 24k for 3 years, and doesn't cover summer classes. That's a lot to take out in loans.

I called BC during their spring break and they picked up. But they have been closing a lot because of all these storms. So maybe it's that? idk

So are you still considering Simmons even though they didn’t give you merit scholarship? Where else have you heard back from?

That’s frustrating! I didn’t get anything about loans or anything.

I just called BC. She said “you should be hearing back in the next two weeks.” She didn’t check my file or anything like the other lady did when I called last week. So maybe this is what they’re telling everyone. ??‍♀️ Not sure how long of an extension I should ask for from Simmons.

No! I was also thinking of calling. I was going to try to wait it out but I should call Simmons and ask for an extension. This is way too close for me. I just hope it won't hurt my financial aid.

Do you guys think BC will send out decisions today? Campus is closed because of the storm ? (but reslife is still doing housing selection today)

I LOVE the campus. It's a very beautiful campus. It's right on the B line & there is shuttles to the D line (quicker way into the city). For undergrad, a big thing for me was that I didn't want to be directly in the city and Chestnut Hill is a good distance from downtown, and it was less than a hour drive from home. But as a POC, there were a lot of issues BC could've handled better.

I didn't get a confirmation email either. BC is usually big on their students being responsible of their own stuff (at least that's how undergrad was)

Nothing ? it’s been 7 weeks for me. I thought I would have heard back already.

Simmons wants an answer by March 26th. So hopefully I will hear back before then.
