  1. Internally AND externally screaming.
  2. Hmmm.. that’s interesting.. I always felt like more fellowships went to 1st and 2nd year PhDs than undergrads.. I wonder if anyone has kept tabs on this.
  3. This just went up... Another false alarm?
  4. There was a maintenance message for Friday (03/20).
  5. I am not sure.. I also applied to the NSF GRFP and NIH F31 Diversity (longest and most excruciating application of all the fellowships). Hopefully I can get one of those and not worry about predoctoral fellowships for the rest of my graduate career. On the results page, they said 70/2100 received the Ford, that's only 3.33% of applicants. Those are very low chances. If I don't get anything this year, I will probably re-apply for the NIH F31 Diversity or AHA Predoctoral. Both of these have much higher success rates. The NIH depends on your field but its around 40% for me, while the AHA is 37%. Since it's a numbers game, I rather take my chances in those two.
  6. I got an email at 9:02 AM (Eastern Time).
  7. Reviewer #1 (liked me): The research proposal was great and it reflected the research aims. Reviewer #2 (did not like me): No comment provided. I think that's the most frustrating part. How will I know what to improve on (which according to reviewer #2 it was a lot of things since he/she scored me poorly) if I don't get feedback?
  8. Results are in. Unfortunately I did not receive it. One reviewer loved me while the other was very harsh. In addition to a candidate, it's a little bit of luck and a numbers game in the end as well. Best of luck to all!
  9. Congrats to those who won. I'm puzzled.. On my application, I still cannot see the results...
  10. Can anyone confirm if we had a GPA section on the application? One reviewer said I didn't have it filled out.. I believe it doesn't exist.
  11. That' crazy.. It really is chance and maybe a little bit of luck on the reviewers. My GPA is 3.58, and 1 reviewer said that I don't show enough academic success, while another said it wasn't clear what the GPA was in the transcript (like that is something I can control). Like other people have said, this does not define us as a person or in our careers.
  12. @amibleeding you have to login through your fastlane account, where you applied. There is a button for View/Print Application Reviews below the status.
  13. Didn’t get it.. pretty bummed. A reviewer said I didn’t put the GPA in the GPA section. There is one?? Same reviewer told me I summarized my research goals but didn’t expand.. Guy killed me..
  14. Someone should call.. if they still give the “early April” answer, then we can say “it’s already early April”. Sounds like they’ll have to change the answer to something else.
  15. This is frustrating and exhausting at this point..
  16. This has probably been discussed already, but how often has there been a correlation between a maintenance advisory and the results being posted the next morning? At least the ones we know of.
  17. Hi everyone. New here, but I’ve been following this post a great deal. The waiting game is torture. I talked to my mentor about this.. apperantly they do the same thing (give vague dates) for all the awards they give... This might be the first of many waiting periods we will suffer through.
