  1. Hi folks, Committee 3, first-timer to the postdoc cycle. @bookmouse Thanks for sharing! Did you find it difficult to switch project directions? Did you have to find a new prospective supervisor?
  2. Hello folks, I just wanted to wish everyone good luck and emotional fortitude in the coming months. I didn't make the first couple times I applied, then won unexpectedly. Regardless of your SSHRC outcome, I wish you all the best :) Re: Adelaide and TooManyQuestions, it's probably more strategic to apply through your current university than to apply directly to SSHRC where you would compete with all applicants that have already out of school. Yuzu
  3. Oh, interesting! I guess each school is different
  4. There's a payment form that you have to fill out as well.
  5. They haven't gotten back to me and it's been a while I don't want to come off as being bothersome, but to hear that they've gotten back to some applicants within a day is very surprising to me.
  6. The only difference in my application from last year (didn't make it out of the university) to this year (CGS-D), was 2 more peer-reviewed publications in good journals (1 first author). I agree with what others have said. The entire process seems highly based on getting lucky with good reviewers. I wish you the best of luck with your upcoming applications!
  7. Thank you for responding! They only told me my score /20, but not my rank in the competition. Where did you see yours? Is it part of the file number?
  8. Hello everyone, Does anyone know how you can find your rank?
  9. I just received my physical letter (SFU, Burnaby), with a score of 16.8/20, CGS-D. I haven't been able to find information about my ranking either.
  10. No physical mail yet. I'm also in Vancouver. Going to check again tomorrow!
  11. My friend who won it last year said that she knew a week before her lab partner, even though they both had won. They were both emailed at separate times. The other girl had to wait a full week for her physical letter, and an extra 2 days before she received an email! That's brutal!
  12. Maybe they're waiting to see how many waitlisted folks are bumped up from Vanier. My incoming supervisor didn't know, and our grad secretary said that they weren't going to release any results. Might be good to visit DGS in person tomorrow - maybe they'll be more forthcoming with your application that way.
  13. Are you from SFU too? When I spoke to DGS, they mentioned that they're emailing everyone. If you're from another university, maybe your grad office isn't the type to notify applicants.
