  1. I would say, read a couple of articles on the SoP, not more than that. and then target a couple of profs wherever you plan to apply. within the text, you need a balance between what you say about yourself and what you write about proposed work/study. The 'proving that I am fit' is tricky, you need not say it in that many words but need to show it throughiut the SOP through other issues. that also lets you save space for other things. I can comment on your SoP if you find that ok best
  2. any methods of saving taxes legally?
  3. i got mine last week you need to keep asking and reminding the departmental secy and the ISS staff at your university. If they dont have a policy of sending by express mail, you can offer to send a prepaid USPS self addressed envelope. That can be done by anyone who is still in the US- say a friend. and do check if there is any confusion between the dept and the ISS regarding the funding and aid etc, it is often delayed due to such confusions best
  4. Hi Leavin....... but is the campus housing not very costly?
  5. Hi I am an international grad student in the social sciences, joining a top US university in fall 2008 I am most willing to provide advice and assistance to applicants in the social sciences. I am ready for issues like CV, GRE, Personal statement and writing sample along with research on professors. I didnt get much help when i applied but I can provide help now that i am 'qualified' for it. I have been admitted with full funding to U of Chicago, UNC, Utah State and at Syracuse without aid. so shoot fellow applicants best
