  1. Hi everyone! I didn't see a thread for Temple University for this admissions cycle so I started this one. Anyone else going to the admitted students visit in March? I'm in the Urban Education concentration.
  2. Hi! I didn't see a thread for UMD here, so I thought I'd start one. Has anybody else been accepted to any of the programs at Maryland? Minority and Urban Education PhD concentration here... I just got an email about a campus visit in the next few weeks and am excited to get a better feel for the department and program. Any current UMD students please feel free to chime in about your experiences!
  3. Haven't heard anything yet but anxiously waiting! I'm pretty sure that this is going to be the week though. Hopefully we'll get some news tomorrow!
  4. That’s what I figured was happening..it’s kind of like being temporarily wait listed just in case the top choices choose to go elsewhere. Good luck to the invitees though!!
  5. I got an email earlier today from the GSE office that gave me some hope but also made me curious about the purpose of the Doctoral Weekend... “There are limited number of invites that are sent to applicants. If you did not receive an invite, that does not mean you will not be admitted into the doctoral program. Faculty will make final decisions or contact you by early/mid March. If you have any additional questions, please contact our office.”
  6. I absolutely needed to see that just now. This last week has been tough with a few of my programs sending out notifications for interviews and some acceptances. The admissions process just seems so secretive, which is frustrating when I'm trying to plan out my life. I've always been a planner, so this is really throwing me off BUT I'm hoping that these next few weeks will bring some clarity. You're absolutely right that it's not over til it's over!
  7. Thanks @eternalreturn! I swear I check this site way more than I should but I feel the same way. Just knowing that other people are getting decisions makes me think that my other schools must be getting around to make a decision sometime soon. Harvard and Wisconsin are amazing programs, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you!
  8. It's become my top choice as well. They seem to be the most responsive during the admissions process and I'm glad that they release decisions fairly early. Do you already have some potential research interests nailed down?
  9. It seems like people last year found out between the end of February and early March. I'm assuming that's still the timeline this year but hoping to hear back earlier!
  10. Heard back from University of Maryland and I got in! The waiting game for the other 5 schools is stressing me out some, but hopefully some of the other programs will post decisions sooner rather than later. Hoping for good news for everyone here!!
  11. I found an error in my SOP right after I submitted my app for one school and they don't allow changes! ? Hopefully it works out though. I had the same issue with switching masters programs from public administration to education policy, but no one has seemed bothered by it so far. I've been accepted into one program and another program definitely seems interested. Good luck with your applications!!
  12. This was really helpful! I'm the one going through the application process but my partner is also going through the job search process. His jobs are dependent on where I choose to go to school but since I've only received one acceptance so far, he's starting to feel some stress too. It just hit us that our lease on our current apartment is up in less than 6 months, so all of this is feeling very real VERY fast.
  13. I applied! I LOVE the program and hope that I get in.
  14. I'm applying to the Ed policy program too! How far along are you with the application?
  15. Working on my applications now and just took the GRE. Somehow I didn't think it would be so hard to go through this process while still teaching full time, but it's been a real struggle. Letters of rec are already in at the 6 schools I'm applying to and my personal statements are done for the most part. Just making the final touches and then I'll hit submit. *crosses fingers*
