I think it's a good idea, especially if you mention something you spoke about during your interview. It helps them remember you better, and who knows, someone may give you insight on how the interview went. I emailed all the professors I interviewed with and 3/4 wrote back with positive things to say, so it doesn't hurt. Plus it's just courteous 

I sent thank you emails to the administrator, director, and faculty I interviewed with at my top choice program.  I wanted the director to know that this was the program I really wanted to go to, and he said during the interview weekend to let him know if this was your top choice (which I also included in my thank you email).
I did get into all the places I interviewed at, so I think it's a nice gesture but I wouldn't say it's necessary.

I sent all my interviews one, the director of recruitment and the program administrator. At min, say thank you to the interviewers.

I did this for pretty much none of my interviews (I think 2-3 profs who stood out only) and got into every school I interviewed at. Won't make or break you, but is common to do.

Been lurking for a bit, made an account just to post this. For everyone waiting to hear from UW MCB, I called and they informed me all emails relating to applications will go out over a period of two days. I have no idea if this is a good or bad thing for those of us who have yet to receive an email. 

I know Vandy's deadline was this Saturday so I don't know if they were contacting people before that. I haven't heard anything.
