  1. I’m definitely not an expert in this, just considering the prestige and rate of high-impact publications for the program as a whole. Your list may differ from mine.
  2. To me that means like top 20, just an arbitrary cutoff. I imagine most of them are in the 500-1000 range if they're not umbrella programs.
  3. That looks to me like they're talking about Arts and Sciences as a whole. Again, I could be wrong.
  4. That seems really unlikely to me unless they're talking about a big umbrella program. I could be wrong though.
  5. I think you mean 1000 not 10000. At U Penn they told us they had 500 applicants this year so I'm sure some of the other big names got 1000 or more. I wouldn't be surprised if there are some GPA cutoffs being put in place, especially after dropping GRE requirements at many schools.
  6. I say still keep your options open. You may end up liking the other program more than you expect.
  7. I got the sense that all of the Stanford Biosciences programs were going out at the same time, though I could be wrong. I think in previous years they only sent out one round of invites. You can always email the program to check.
  8. Guys I'm a finalist for the Knight-Hennessey Fellowship at Stanford and I'm literally crying right now lol Any other neuro folks on the list?? It's for all disciplines so curious if anyone else is in this field!
  9. Looks like it, yes. It’s actually from Stanford Biosciences as a whole, not just neuro.
  10. Just got the official email from Stanford neuro.
  11. My guess is yes, I know at least 2 others who have gotten calls. But they may still be calling more since the email hasn’t gone out yet.
  12. I'm not sure what you mean by shortlisted.
  13. No official emails yet, just phone calls so far.
  14. I think it may have been me who said 25-27, I just had it written down wrong on my calendar! It is 24-26 like the website says.
  15. Yeah I know someone who got a call on Friday (mine was Wednesday) so it seems like they are still slowly trickling out.
  16. So do we think MIT is done now? No new invitations after the first wave 2 weeks ago...
  17. They told me that most if not all of us will receive offers, as they have no maximum cap. Each group is ~25 people and neither has any priority.
  18. Just had my U Penn neuro interview today and I’m pretty sure they’re done sending invites as well. They told us exactly how many students are attending the other interview weekend so sound like things are pretty set.
  19. Got the call on Wednesday from Stanford neuro but no official email yet. Could be later this evening, my phone call was at like 9pm EST.
  20. Thanks! They said I’d get the official email today or tomorrow (haven’t gotten it yet) so they might still be making calls. My GPA was 3.99 but I don’t know what the cutoff was.
  21. Just got invited to Stanford! It was a phone call so keep your phone nearby if you’re waiting
  22. Not yet. Last year they were sent on a Thursday so maybe tomorrow? Fingers crossed...
  23. Post-bac programs have a lot of perks like seminars, free or inexpensive classes, etc. Often there's more opportunity to publish as well.
  24. I’m an IRTA. DM if you have questions! The main difference is that PREP programs are aimed at underrepresented groups in science. Also PREP programs are based at many different universities whereas the IRTA program is at the NIH campus.
  25. Those who received MIT invites, when was your deadline to accept? Trying to gauge when a second round might be sent out.
