I got an email from my POI saying that I am a very good fit to his lab and "a letter from the department should be forthcoming". For three weeks I haven't got an official letter, but can I assume that the comment above means an acceptance? It is my top choice and I am very nervous of waiting. Has anyone got similar response and got the final offer? Help me out please!

Me too, obviously each school has their own needs and policies, and I did not see this coming. Just fingers crossed for further invitations.

I have also applied as Ph.D. GPA 3.5 with seven mildly related research publications. I haven't heard anything yet either. Does anyone know how many positions they have each year?
