Yeah I guess that makes sense. I did get the sense that it was a small program, although I was surprised to see a number of people talking about it on here which made me think it might be a popular one after all. The only thing is that everything about the application itself was weird and different from other schools, so my thinking is it's a wildcard and they could do anything. But most likely they're done.
I agree with you about the quantitative focus; it would've been great for me as well. I actually have a double major in neuro and CS, and a couple years of postgrad research (but not computational), but there were other issues with my application such that I'm sure I wasn't in any school's "definitely" pile. On the other hand though, in general it's really common for people to enter any neuroscience program after having majored in applied math or physics, so I think you could also be very competitive at most of the "traditional" neuro programs.
