  1. I believe Brown also has this. In fact, I didn't realize Penn also had such a strong guarantee. I know that when it comes time to choose a lab after rotations, you have to make sure your lab of interest has funding (which is just common sense honestly).
  2. The rejection from the Behavioral Neuroscience PhD someone posted gave me a nice jolt of panic ?
  3. Hey GECIgecko! I'm also sitting here with one acceptance so far (and waiting for BU). The temptation to just accept that one and escape from the stress of the rest of the process is pretty real. (But of course I won't because I know I'd regret it.) The weight lifted off my shoulders after the first one was amazing though, because I've been worried for the past year and a half about an iffy advisor who I just barely eventually got a LOR out of, and I really didn't want to have to apply again.
  4. Well...you do you, but to be honest, I gave up on it a while back ?
  5. Hey just a friendly tip for anyone who didn't know: as a former Bostonian, nobody calls it "Boston," it's always just BU. If it's ambiguous with another BU then I guess you would spell it out (I think someone called Baylor BU before?), but the more likely ambiguity is with Boston College or BC, so the "U" is important. Edit: and I also wish they would hurry up! It's good to have some insider information though ?
  6. When I did my first interview last week, they had current students leading us around the whole time. In fact, I still don't know where anything is since I never had to look at a map! I think this is typical, but again it's the only one I've been on so I'm not sure.
  7. Actually, on this page it says 24-26. Did someone have a more reliable source saying 25-27? Not that one day makes much of a difference...
  8. Oh I just noticed this from the confirmation email after submitting the application: "...We realize that waiting is very difficult. However, we request that you do not call or email our offices to inquire about the status of your application." whoops lol
  9. Yeah I guess that makes sense. I did get the sense that it was a small program, although I was surprised to see a number of people talking about it on here which made me think it might be a popular one after all. The only thing is that everything about the application itself was weird and different from other schools, so my thinking is it's a wildcard and they could do anything. But most likely they're done. I agree with you about the quantitative focus; it would've been great for me as well. I actually have a double major in neuro and CS, and a couple years of postgrad research (but not computational), but there were other issues with my application such that I'm sure I wasn't in any school's "definitely" pile. On the other hand though, in general it's really common for people to enter any neuroscience program after having majored in applied math or physics, so I think you could also be very competitive at most of the "traditional" neuro programs.
  10. So are we calling it for CNBC PNC? I saw a couple people say they were releasing them on the 22nd, but only one result submitted...I feel like they could just be doing another round in January, no? I tried to email them last week, but got an out of office message. Maybe I'll try again later this week.
