I did my undergrad here if anyone has any specific questions!

How do you like Boulder as a city? I've heard that it's beautiful but also that the people are pretty homogeneous in terms of interests/lifestyles. Were you able to meet a variety of cool people?

I've also heard it's expensive. Did you live off campus - was rent reasonable? Where are good areas to live if you're commuting to/from the university?

Also- is having a car necessary or is public transportation pretty good?

    Thank you thank you!

  2. Hey all!

I just had my Skype Emerson interview which went well! Definitely more like a conversation than an interview and it sounds like they ask different questions to each candidate.

However, my internet was so badly that I didn't catch the name of the second interviewer. If anyone has better luck/a better working memory, can you please message me the names of them? I want to send a little follow up email (which has been recommended to me by interviewers) but want to get the names right.

    THANK YOU1

Good! I'm assuming you were one of the people who posted on the "admission results" page, too!

I've talked to a current student in their program and she didn't say anything like that! She said she loved it because it's very interdisciplinary and challenging which will prepare her well for the future. I never heard anything like what you've mentioned about their program...Mind sharing some posts/articles?

The above chain was one that concerned me. Hopefully just the bad experience of a few students though.

  4. Hey all!

I may be jumping the gun here because Rush hasn't even sent out acceptances yet, but I have some questions for anyone who is attending/knows anyone who is attending/has a closer connection to the program.

Rush has been my top choice for a while now due to the medical emphasis and location.

However, I've been hearing a lot of mixed reviews on other forums. People claim that it is over-the-top challenging compared to other programs of the same standing and that too much material is packed into the short terms. Also I just read about an oral exam that many people fail up to two times.

Don't get me wrong, I'm prepared for a challenging grad school experience no matter where I go. I just don't want to set my self up for failure & want to enjoy my life during those two years at least somewhat...

Has anyone heard/ experienced similar things or did I just hear a few horror stories?
