I know a person in the program at Virginia Tech and it appears they've extended out all of their admission invitations. If you haven't heard back, you're likely on a back-up waitlist in case the students that were admitted decline the admission. In my experience, that typically means that you'll get a rejection from that university. It happened to me with the University of Georgia the first time I applied to programs. Good luck!
