  1. Just checked this on Harvard T. Chan's website on Q&A for the PhD program in PHS. How many students will be in each cohort? There will be about 40 new students each year in the program across all Fields of Study. So far, there are only 5 acceptances for the PhD degree in PHS. That means there are still about 35 acceptances are coming. So guys if you have not heard from Harvard T.Chan, just don't panic yet. Suddenly my hopes are up! Good luck to all of us.
  2. Thanks very much for sharing the info. This is very useful to know. Ah suddenly my hope went up again Do you know by any chance that the previous year was similar number? I am asking this because I had a chat with a potential supervisor last year at the JSM and he said that the admission procedure has changed slightly last year (or going to change this year, can't remember exactly). They used to admit more people but now they admit only one student to each concentration area but a full package of funding is guaranteed. Hopefully, this year the total number of students admitted will be the same as last year.
  3. Yes, there are 9 departments at the Harvard T.Chan School of Public Health. And in the epi department, there are about 13 concentration areas. I thought each concentration area might get one student each year? Maybe @epihope is right about what the other professor said about each department admitting 5-6 students each year. In the results page, already 5 acceptances for the epi department (1 wait list) for 2019. Still trying to be hopeful about it as Harvard was the only school I applied but many things are pointing to the otherwise bad outcome... If anyone knows about Harvard T.Chan's admission policy, it would be nice to share here for peach of mind...
  4. Yes, put all the eggs into one basket this time Let's see how it goes. I might need to apply for Harvard and other schools next year again.
  5. Just emailed the Harvard GSAS to ask for the status of my application and below is what i got. Not very useful...Looks like I will need to impatiently wait it out... We’re sorry but we cannot provide information about the status of an individual application. As we replied earlier, applications are presently under review. You will be notified by email when a decision has been made on your application. Decisions will be available to view by logging into your application using your login and password. All decisions will be made by early March.
  6. Ah, I see. Harvard is the only school I applied and no news so far. I am worried for the worst now too now that people started getting their acceptance or wait lists.
  7. Did you see on the results page that Harvard sent out rejection letters already? I didn't see that yet. I have not heard back anything after my submission in November.
  8. @apex Did you hear from Harvard? I remember you had an interview right?
  9. Congrats. Is this from Harvard T.Chan?
  10. I am in the same boat. Nothing after I submitted my application mid-November. I am hopeful that we can hear something late February. The results page from 2018 shows that people heard about decisions Feb 22-Feb 26...
  11. Anyone has applied to Harvard PhD epi methodology track (causal inference)? Any news so far?
  12. Thanks very much. Now I will check that forum instead.
  13. Sounds great. Please keep us posted if you hear back anything. I will do the same. Also, did you apply for other schools? Harvard was the only school I applied. And what is your background if you don't mind sharing? I am a statistician with MSc. in statistics. 4 years working experience in research.
  14. Congrats. I also applied for the same program (epi method track) but have not heard from anything. I did meet with my potential supervisor at the JSM in 2018 but I don't think it was an interview.
