When is acceptable to email programs to check on your application status (I have seen many rejections from these schools, but also interviews/acceptances)?

If anyone goes to Uconn, Florida State, or Auburn I would love to hear your opinions of the schools/areas! I am having trouble narrowing down my choices.

Haha Duke and Missouri. I also feel like they will reject us soon, but maybe it will be a waitlist??
