Im also planning to accept at UofA. What’s your budget/price range for apartments? I may not be able to suggest a specific building but there are definitely nicer areas for students! The century park/heritage area on the south side is where I live in a house with roommates and it’s nice because I can just jump on the train to school. Pretty much anywhere else along the LRT route is convenient too, but some neighbourhoods are relatively more sketchy just like in any city.
Of course I’m sure right by campus would be ideal and there are usually many options available in that area. Friends of mine have had success using rentfaster.ca here in Edmonton.
I’ve lived here my whole life so let me know if you have any other questions too!
I feel like I was so out of the loop with UofA! I hadn’t heard anything at all on my portal or emails, so finally I emailed them. Turns out I’ve been accepted by the department just not officially due to slow admin stuff. I wish I’d emailed them sooner rather than stressing all week hahaha
Oh that’s awesome! I haven’t heard anything from them (acceptance, wait list, rejection) so hopefully by tomorrow I will ? I probably will accept AB if I get in because it’s closer to home for me than Quebec!
No problem, I’m relieved too. I got into McGill and I know different schools look at different things, but I’m hoping that means there’s a decent chance UofA will accept me. And I know what you mean. I’m from Edmonton and UofA would be super convenient for me
Hey everyone! I’ve been reading this thread for a while and I finally decided to contribute. This is my first year applying to speech! I applied at UofA and McGill. Do you think McGill will start contacting people this week? ?
