  1. Sounds like there may be some similarities between our research. I'm interested in the emergence and trajectory of differing conceptions of the nature of the Revolution, especially as they related to political and constitutional debates. I'm looking at divisions within the Patriot cause, but mostly from an ideological (as opposed to a socially or economically-focused) vantage. I agree with both you and @e_randolph--Freeman is a tremendous scholar!
  2. Pardon the redundancy in my post. "Interesting" probably isn't the best adjective to use in describing "interests." ?
  3. These are all very interesting research interests! My interests are primarily in intellectual history from the colonial through the early national periods (although I generally tend to focus on the Revolution in my research). I'm currently reading The Second Creation by Jonathan Gienapp. Some of the scholars who have influenced me most (besides the usual suspects, like Bailyn, Wood, Appleby, et al.) are Craig Yirush, Max Edling, John Phillip Reid, Daniel Walker Howe, Alison LaCroix, Douglas Bradburn, and Eliga Gould.
  4. Thanks for the very helpful responses, @telkanuru @TMP @ashiepoo72 ! Ohio State is one of my top choices, so knowing I still have a chance of being admitted definitely provides some relief.
  5. Has anyone who applied to Ohio State gotten a response yet? Judging by previous years, it seems they have generally notified most applicants of their status by the end of January, but there are only two results for this year--which could simply be a result of a smaller proportion of accepted students reporting on here, or could be an indication that not all of OSU's acceptances have been sent. I'm getting apprehensive but don't want to prematurely assume that I will be rejected.
  6. @villageelliot and @darkpaladin Good to see some fellow early Americanists on this thread! I am also anxiously awaiting decisions from the programs to which I applied, although I suppose we will all hear back soon enough. In any case, best of luck!
