  1. Hey all, So I've applied for the Fall 2019 semester to a number of schools. By and large things are pretty good. The one thing that is not good is a letter of recommendation to one of my schools. One of my professors has submitted a recommendation letter to my first choice application, but not for my second. I sent him both of the recommendation requests in early January and have sent two of the electronic reminders. My application for this school says it is "under review" but I'm still missing that Rec letter. I'm really trying not to pull my hair out from anxiety or be annoying but I really need this letter in or I'm screwed. Do y'all have any recommendations? Thanks
  2. Hey! So I just went on my first grad school visit! I feel like it went super well and I've got another one in two days. As to my question, should I send the professor who organized my visit a thank you? Should I send the other professors and grad students thank you emails as well or no? If it makes any difference, I thanked everyone personally before I took off. Thanks!
  3. I'd wager it really depends on the culture. I just had an interview at a geology school in Texas. I wore khaki jeans, a nice pair of cowboy boots, and a button down. I frankly think I may have over dressed given that one of the professors greeted me in a T-shirt and jorts. All of the other professors had on blue jeans. Again, though, it really depends on the culture of the school and the department/major. I was a political science major for a while and the poly-sci professors I had were always dressed more formally than my geology professors. The outfit you described would probably be good, though. A suit or something similar would probably be a little too much. Good luck!
